In the nearly 5 years I have been here, the new posts and see all posts has taken a second or two to display. now it’s taking upwards of 20 second and the last one took 40 plus. There has been no change in my equipment, service package or ISP.What gives?

My guess – and it’s only a guess – is that we are back to having intermittent periods of intensive server activity to heavy for the system to bear.

That’s how the system acts when it’s swamped with too much traffic.

If it’s only intermittent it’s not a problem; things soon resolve and the system goes back to being normal and regular in handling traffic. If it gets to be more of a problem, hopefully management will do something but as I’m not the person making that call I can’t promise you anything.

Slow search times have caused me to click again too soon and get that 120 second rule that is so often criticized here.

It’s not just that - for as long as I’ve been here, the “new posts” button returns, at the least until these last few weeks - upwards of 20-50 in the wee hours and often during the day a couple hundred new posts. Recently, I’ll click “new posts” and get as few as 6. Like just before I’m posting here. It’s weird.
