# Suggest A Linux Distro For Me

I’ve been playing around with Knoppix and am very enthusiastic, but I’d like something that I don’t have to boot off a CD :D.
So, suggest me a Linux distro. I’ve heard nothing but good stuff about SuSE and Mandrake.
Let’s see…I’m new to Linux, but I know my way around my PC/Windows pretty well. So if it asks me about a video card, I’m not gonna freak out. 😃

I’ve been having fun with my new Mandrake setup for about 4 hours now 😃
There’s a CD-bootable version of Mandrake, called MandrakeMove, which you could try out - if that recognises your video, printer and modem correctly, then the full install is surely the way to go.

I use SuSE, and it’s a great distro; particularly for beginners. It, too, has a live-eval CD.

Oh, another reason you might want to pick SuSE: If you have an nVidia graphics card, you can automatically activate the 3D drivers by running YAST Online Update. See details at [nvidia.com](http://nvidia.com).
