# Suggest some new cable TV channels

I’m visiting a friend in the hospital, and we’re indulging in our usual hospital pastime: black humor. (No offense intended to anyone who currently has loved ones in difficult medical situations.)
I mentioned to him that I read there was going to be a new tv channel just for dogs called DogTV, and he said, “I think there should be a channel called ComaTV, for people who are unconscious but their families still want the tv to be on 24/7.” Not sure what the programming should be; I guess it doesn’t really matter.
And then there’s ComaInducingTV, designed to put the viewer into a state of unconsciousness. We may already have that.
I’m sure there are plenty of other market niches that should have their own channels.

There are two channels out there already that I think could be done way better:
A real Sci-fi channel
And A real Channel for men (Could do better than Spike)
I’ve also often wondered if a Star Trek channel would be viable. With their cult like following, it seems plausible.
