I’m making a playlist for summer and would appreciate suggestions! I like upbeat, poppy stuff (I loathe electronica and anything atonal, not really interested in rap/hip hop but I do like some popular stuff, would prefer to avoid anything auto tuned). I want something happy and bouncy and summery for the car. Here’s the current list: Friday - Glee Cast Hey Hey Hey - Michael Franti Feel the Sunshine - Joe Brooks 40 Dogs (like Romeo and Juliet) - Bob Schneider California (Hustle & Flow) - Social Distortion Glow - Donavon Frankenreiter The Sound of Sunshine - Michael Franti Summer Girl - Jessica Andrews Light up the World - Glee Cast Summer Song - Tuuli Summertime - Brianna Taylor Wet Hot American Summer - Cobra Starship Sweet Song - Jen Foster Summer Nights - Rascal Flatts I’m looking for stuff that is new to me, I have a ton of upbeat, happy stuff (lots of stuff by Uncle Kracker, Donavan Frankenreiter, G. Love etc) would fit on this CD, but I’ve used them before. ---

Thanks for the suggestions, was looking for something new and while I love the Beach Boys and like Jan & Dean, they are definitely overplayed in my head. I was considering adding All Summer Long by Kid Rock. ---

Well, gosh, Hüsker Dü’s “Celebrated Summer” might be worth a listen, if you’ve got room for fast and punky on your playlist. ---

_The Boys Of Summer_ by Don Henley might fit the bill, it’s kinda laid back so might not be upbeat enough for what you want. Great song though. ---

[Starry Eyed Surprise](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZvOVih7qDtE) is a good one; makes you think of soft summer nights in L.A., which is weird since I don’t care for LA or rap or even THAT much techno but…this song has all of that and is awesome, very happy 🙂 I blame the Coke commercial. ---
