I’m sort of against euphemism. I understand why people prefer I not refer to the act as “self-murder”, but “killed themself” does accurately describe what happened. There people for whom the act of suicide is, actually a sin and I think they should be able to talk about it in those terms if that’s how they understand it and the sin part is causing them distress. And a disease process that results in death is “pathological”. You are free to disagree, but some of this sounds like sugar-coating something ugly. Yes, sometimes that’s necessary, but I still find it extremely distasteful at best. ---

I finally saw Michelle Carter 2 weeks ago. She was seated not six feet away from me at a local breakfast place. I would have asked to be moved but I had my future 5 year old stepson with me and I didn’t want to make a scene. It was incredibly distracting. I thought she was in jail but apparently not that morning. ---

Good! Parole shouldn’t even be an option for such a short sentence. I’m pleasantly surprised the parole board rejected her. 15 months is a very short sentence and there’s no need to reduce it. She’s already getting time off for good behavior and that’s enough. ---

She’s earned almost 2 months off for good behavior. That’s fair. She could have earned more time off by working at the jail and attending educational programs. (12 months x 10 days = 120 days early release) But that’s her choice. She’s doing well in jail and hopefully her life afterwards will be uneventful.
