The Color Version is 6.8meg, The Black and White Version is like 2.5meg. Scroll down through the bullshit and you’ll see it. Anyway I’m not sure if this is the guy, but it could be. Still very interesting. And to any person who removes this, your an ignorant F*CK. I will tell you though that it is pretty intense and graphical.

Naturally. Patriotism went out the window during the Viet-Nam war, so debunking stuff like that is about par for the course. But debunk all you like. The founding fathers and the rest of us who were volunteers stood up and did what the country asked us to even though Viet-Nam was a horrible mistake. And believe me, no one gives us a moment’s peace about it, either. So John Wayne is dead and now Bart Simpson is your children’s role model…and I’m way off course for the thread so I’ll stop. But I grew up in Texas during the 50s and 60s. The kids then had guns but didn’t take them to school to kill their peers. And they respected their parents and what America stood for. That’s why you are free not to believe in any one or anything, and to reap the benefits of living in this wonderful country and bitching about it every step of the way.

I missed the section of the rules requiring members to get a legal opinion before posting and I will bear you in mind if I decide to become a plagiarist or if I require other assistance for which I am unable to noodle out an answer.

tcburnett, first let me say that I have nothing but utter respect for the fact that you fought for my country, which I love, but where in yojimbo’s post does he make the statement “Watching the video is way worse than being in the Vietnam war?” It seems like you came out of nowhere and virtually attacked him for using the adjective “horrible” to describe a man putting a gun in his mouth and pulling the trigger. Incidentally, my father was shot in Vietnam and lost most of the ability to use his left hand. I seldom remember the man talking about the war, even when pressed and am certain he never condescended anyone else’s hardships because of his injury. - Chief Crunch**

Thanks for the opinion Chief and of coure you would be absolutely correct except for one TINY difference…I wasn’t replying to yojimbo. I was replying to Derleth who said to me, in reference to my having served in Viet-Nam, “Amazing how some people can use the worst experience mankind has thought up as a badge of honor, isn’t it?”.
That’s why I put Derleth’s comment in bold letters above my rant instead of yojimbo’s, whose comments I took for exactly what they were: polite words of caring and concern.
I hope I have responded satisfactorily to everyone in the Derogation Society. If not, it will have to wait until next year.
Happy 4th of July to everyone, even those people with whom I clash on occasion. I mean to give no offense. I apologize for sometimes not being able to take offense easily or well, especially about those things from which I carry deep scars.
Jeeeeez, I just read my last post. It amazes me what an ass I can be sometimes. CHRONOS, **please ** accept my most sincere and humble apology for those comments.
I was still trying to take a swing at someone else (I don’t want to re-visit the issue) and I,inexcusably, popped off at you. I retract it. I apologize for it. I slink away in mortification.
tc: I simply wanted to add that, from what little I knew about you, you had come across in your comments - at least as far as I’m concerned - as a pretty decent guy all around. Your last post just comforted me in my opinion.
Hi, Farmer. I’m ignorant F*CK. Nice to meet you. Under normal circumstances I would have left your link despite how graphic it was, because it showed footage of a well-known news event. Oh, sure, I might have gone to the site to check that they had all the copyright propers lined up (they didn’t), but I probably would have left it anyway.
But you know what? I removed it. Because you pissed me off. That is just a shockingly bad idea. Consider this an official Moderator’s Warning. You call anyone, including me, an ignorant fuck in my forum again and you risk becoming a former member of this community.
Capice?
P.S. If you’re going to insult me, you should at least get your damned your/you’re straight. Sheesh.
Hey, no problem, tc, we all have hot-button issues. As for the quote from the e-mail or web page or whatever, if you were specifically told not to attribute it, of course that’s cool. I just mentioned it as an issue that might come up later-- It’s just nice to know who’s saying what, you know?
Oh, and on a completely separate, technical issue, watch your [[sup][/sup]quote] and [[sup][/sup]/quote] tags… if you mix them up, it can start to get a bit hard to read. I always use “preview” when using a lot of tags.
I wasn’t even referring to that comment. I was talking about the fact that you went into a long, condescending rant about Vietnam for no reason other than yojimbo using the word horrible. Yojimbo said nothing about Vietnam, you were the one who brought it up. Your FIRST post in this thread. Derleth hadn’t even replied at that point.
I don’t really want to get into anything of what tc said as I don’t know what anything he described is really like. I do, however, have the highest respect for anyone that served in the military and fought in any war. It’s an amazing thing to fight for ones country, something that I question whether I could actually do if not forced to do so.
Anyway, I saw the video. I don’t care how “desensitized” people are to violence, this is unbelievably desturbing to me. I had seen the video before the OP was on the board, and when I saw it I questioned whether it was real or not (I didn’t know the back story). Now that I do, it disturbs me all the more. I have never seen someone commit suicide so close up. I have seen lots of murders on TV, but suicide seems much different to me. I hope this is a one time thing for me to see. Though I’ll probably see many more deaths in my life, I can always hope. Later all.

Where did you get the impression that I called you and ignorant FCK?? I didn’t call you an ignorant FCK. I was implying, that if you remove it because of graphical content or because someone is offended, then yes you are, which in your post you stated that you removed it in spite me. But, if you had left it alone, then no, you are not an ignorant F*CK. Free speach anyone? Guess not.
Think about this.
Capice?
P.S. If you’re going to insult me, you should at least get your damned your/you’re straight. Sheesh.
I’m just saying that if it were left alone that means no one is an ignorant f*ck.
If it were to be removed for the following reasons then, well…
Too Graphical
Too Emotional
Someone is offended
Too Much Blood
…and so on.
Quoto From yojimbo:
Fall to the floor and have blood pump for his head and nose is horrible and I didn’t post a link because a link to another horrible image was deleted by the Admin. the other day .
It’s just when I see censorship of anykind, I think it’s shamefull and selfish.
Like you said, under normal circumstances you would have left it alone. That would mean you are not an Ignorant F*CK. Goodnight.
Where’s the censorship ? As I said anybody could have found that link by searching with the name +video . On metacrawler its the 3rd hit . Your link was deleted because you were being an asshole .
The link I gave was to a deleted link which IMHO the Admin. were quite right in deleting ( I saw that picture ) . So go fight your anti-censorship battles somewhere it’s needed and appreciated .
Farmer, it is clear that you are
a) rude
b) unrepentant
c) verging on illiterate
d) lacking in any sort of rational, logical thought process
e) did I mention rude?
What joy could you possibly find here, at a place where literacy, logic and (generally) manners are so key?
O.K guys, it’s not spelled “capice”, it is spelled “capisci”. In some Southern Italian dialects the final vowel of a word is not pronounced.
As far as I’m concerned the Vietnam War was on an equal moral level with the systematic destruction of Yugoslavia. An utterly futile exercise that resulted in defeat for the Americans/NATO. Also, an exercise that was driven by the completely wrong motives. Save lives and protect the innocent my ass. I sincerely feel sorry for anyone who was forced to serve in such a war. Hell, in any war, but in such wars particularly.
Patriotism, as O. Wilde said, is the virtue of the vicious. Anything that incites a human being to hatred and offensive violence could only be vicious. If patriotism goes out the window–and I really wish it would-- all the better. Quite frankly this world of easily-communicated false information could use a little more debunking.
I am sure the video in question is completely shocking, but is it devoid of all educational value? Or are we too afraid that such material will desentize us to atrocities? Or, and this is really a long shot, are we respecting the dignity of the deceased? Even though he blew his brains out live??
Since I’m here, I’ll jump in with just a few thoughts that you need to deal with.
1 : There is censorship on this board. We do not feel that we should have to provide a forum for any thought, picture, or link that anyone wants to post. Although we are a public forum, and allow a great deal of leeway, we have to set at least a few standards for what is allowable.
2 : If you don’t like that you are more than welcome to go begin your own message board and post whatever you like. But on your own dime, not ours.
