Is this the grossest, most depressing weather ever (specifically the DC area)? Jeez, by the end of May we at least start getting a taste of warmer weather – I’m not expecting 80 degrees and sunny every day especially since it’s not even June. But this is ridiculous. I keep obsessively looking out the window every few minutes looking for the slightest hint that it might clear up or even stop raining for a few minutes. I’m going to go home and bury myself under blankets until it gets nicer outside. ---

I bought my boys dirt bikes for Christmas…they’ve had mebbe one or two days since then of decent riding weather. I also just got back from Bike Week down at Myrtle Beach…more of the same. OG apparently hates bikers… ---

Great. First the east cost steals all our snow this winter, and now you’re stealing our Spring. It’s 80 degrees outside, for christ’s sake. Give that cold air back! Right now! ---

Not so much the East, but the Southeast. Here in Montgomery, when it rains in the summer - it tends to smell like a big, wet dog. I kid you not. Right now, it smells like a big fish. My lawn is supporting mold growth. The sun comes out for 2 hours, and the grass grows 2 inches. ---

The sun came out today and the grass is threatening to suffocate the house. It has rained for almost a week now so we missed last week’s mowing. I was beginning to think we were all going to float away! I bought the munchkin a summer wardrobe but I’m still squeezing her into her warmer clothes so she looks like a rag a muffin most of the time. Where oh where did short’s weather go?! ---

I feel like a character in that story by Ray Bradbury, “All Summer in a Day,” where the little girl who has seen the sun tells all the other kids about it but it’s been raining so long that no one believes her. The sun does exist! I think I saw it last year sometime… ---

So, something’s seriously wrong when my sister is bragging about the weather there to me. Last year, it snowed on memorial day in Colorado Springs, CO. This year, it rained. All weekend. In New Jersey. What happened to the sun? My doggy’s sad. ---

Grrr. I was thinking of posting a gripe, but it’s been done. Part of my yard is over a foot tall, as I haven’t found a dry day to cut grass. Beyond that, I’ve five contracts that are waiting for the damned rain to stop. Although I’m going broke for lack of work-it is nice to sleep until 10! 😃 ---

And here in NE FL we’re having the opposite. It’s been hot hot hot and dryer than normal. I think we’ve only gotten about half our normal rainfall for May, and that’s come in the last week. I’ve had to run my AC full time for at least a month. We did have a nice rain last night, but no more in the forecast, and temps in the 90s this week. I spent the weekend in Baltimore all damp and gloomy, and I come back home to bake. Ugh. ---
