That’s a whole lotta sh…paper…🆒😉 Just finished up a 2 hr. online course called “Government Purchase Card Refresher”, which was interesting and pretty well done. Only problem is I haven’t had a Government Credit Card for seven years!! But it’s on my ‘professional development’ chart, so I had to take it. _Sigh_. One more course and I am done with this fiscal year…and I retire next year so I can tell them exactly what to do with their courses next year!! ---

The General’s dindin has been swiped and et. OYKW is about to prepare himself a soak in the tub. All is well. I remember bein’ all excitated about bein’ able to tune in to WLS radio at night. I am bakin’ a ham as I post. It should be done in about an hour. Why, you ask, am I bakin’ a ham? Well, tomorrow evenin’ we are hostin’ a bday dindin for a good friend. I decided to go ahead and bake the ham this evenin’ cause, well, why not. It’s a spiral ham so it’s easy to get off the bone and to heat up. Also, tomorrow mornin’ I shall be involved with mowage of the back forty over to the church house. Then we are goin’ to have a \ Quickie! \ for N.O.L. After that I am hopin’ for some cee-mint pond time. I shall also cook up some green beans and scalloped N.O.T. and bake up some rolls for dindin. Birthday girl has requested a DQ cake so JDD and Partner are in charge of that. Because we are all suave and sophisticated, we shall have wine with cheese and crackers before dindin. Howzzat for rambly? 😃 Oh and a tstorm moved through an hour ago. 'Twas nice and cooled down the outside temp considerably. ---

Didn’t go to the armpit today. I promised for sure tomorrow. My mother already called wondering why we haven’t come yet. Sah-son cleaned up the kitchen so I didn’t have to. \*\*Stainless Steel Rat \*\* there is something about a well stocked house that makes me happy. I like seeing my cabinets full of neatly stacked TP, paper towels, etc. I even bought a case of 1200 paper plates when I moved in - another year+ supply. Same with hand soap, shampoo and stuff. I feel so organized. ---

I’ve decided never to move out of my apartment. My A/C broke around 5:15 this afternoon. There was a good deal of cursing following this, as OF COURSE this always happens at the end of the day on a Friday! And the unit is locked in the “maintenance closet” in my apartment to which I don’t have access, so all I could troubleshoot was the thermostat, which did nothing. The leasing office closes at 5:30, but I called them to at least register my problem so they could put me on the list for an HVAC guy on Monday or whatever. Well, somebody showed up at 5:45, immediately diagnosed and repaired the clogged drain line, and I am now basking at 71 degrees in time for the weekend. Total elapsed time without A/C was about 40 minutes. This was my first experience needing maintenance in this apartment and I thoroughly approve so far. ---

My tenant called when the A/C went out. I called the A/C guys, begged and pleaded, fellow veterans, etc., and they went out and there was nothing wrong. :dubious: ---

It’d be nice if my house had A/C. And yes, before anyone starts with the jokes, it can actually get really hot in the summer in my part of Canada. Though it’s not so bad for me as my bedroom is in the basement. So I shouldn’t whine. 😛 Brownies are all gone. 🙂 ---

Went to the doctor for my quarterly this morning. I got a med student who was shadowing doc. I had to go back a couple of hours later, though, after I had enough fluid for them to get some blood. :eek: Other than that, it’s been an uneventful day. Laundry is done, supper is over, music practiced and work on the book of Mom’s recipes I’m doing for baby Sis is being worked on. ---

I just saw the biggest, nastiest spider of my life on my wall. It wasn’t even a regular house spider with the long legs, but a big hairy nasty black spider. I got lots of kleenex to make sure I could kill the spider. I tried to kill it - and I’m pretty sure it escaped into a pile of clothes. Why no, it’s perfectly okay. I guess I didn’t really need to sleep tonight after all.
