Certain things are always good. Little things. Pointless things. Here I am, sitting on a sunday afternoon, drinking coffee with milk. For the millionth time in my life I’ve noticed again the aroma of coffee, and noticing, smiled. It’s afternoon and sunday and I have nothing planned. A whole day to do nothing without guilt. Be without being anything in particular. Tomorrow, I’ll be unemployed. Today, I have the day off. In this not-so-small town enough of a small town soul remains that work on sunday, though a fact, is not an accepted one. And when we work those shifts, that one-seventh of a week’s business that sunday has become, we never really settle in. We complain, mildly, and the shift is rotated. Nobody _really_ works sundays, we’re just filling in. It’s an exception to the way we know things are, even though they aren’t that way anymore. Sunday is for guiltless goofing off, it’s one day when clawing to the top can be suspended, though, yes, the people who are actually headed to the top, who are striving for _momentum_ are probably still clawing somewhere, but let’s leave them to it, it’s not a pretty sight on such a beautiful day. I’m here at my desk, and I’m at the same time here at this small nexus in an immense network of people all tangled up together. A million desks and offices and laptops all invisibly tangled, and we’re all on sunday time, every one of us, even when we don’t know it. I’m going for a walk. And then I may take a nap before dinner. happy sunday ---

**A spectacular rant!!** I didn’t get it until I saw the subtle phrasing of a particular sentence. (Don’t want to spoil it for others who may want to search.) Well done. For originality of content, once the key has been found, this forehead-slapper is likely the finest rant in Pit history. ---

**Libertarian** (?) The OP is something mundane and possibly pointless that I was compelled, but not forced, to share. Are you serious or just winding everybody up? If you’re serious, _I’d_ like to know what you found so pit worthy. I tend to write to see what I’ll say as much as anything else. I think better when I’m writing. Anybody else write to find out what they really think about a topic? Btw, The line for crackpot interpretations now forms to the left. 😉 ---
