But remember Kennedy’s most famous boat trip ended with a crash, a bisected boat, on fire, and half the crew killed.

Carnival is just giving you a realistic idea of what to expect.

> Out of curiosity, how easily could someone be killed by a falling TV these days? Modern flatscreens tend to be pretty lightweight.
>
> I mean I could see a baby getting killed if a TV tipped over and fell on it’s head. But I can’t really see a kid the age of the one in the Nationwide commercial suffering too severely if a flatscreen TV were to fall on him.
>
> The TVs we had when I was growing up ('80s, early 90s), on the other hand, could do real damage if they were to tip over.

it’s not just the weight of the thing, it’s how fast and in what way it hits. A 55"+ LCD is heavy enough where- if, say, it struck the kid via and edge or corner- it could cause a skull fracture.

Best Tweet spotted by CNN about the most used theme in the ads:

“These #SuperBowl ads make me want to go out and buy like 12 dads,” - Laura A. Rosenfeld.

Imagine the poor kid at the counter when they tell someone to call Mom and say “I love you” only to be told: “My mother died last week” or “My mother stood by for years while my dad abused me and my sister…”

Yep, good plan, McD’s.

On the other hand, I can see a bunch of people going there hoping to score a free meal and throwing a fit when the cashier doesn’t want to accept their song and dance as payment.

The usual gang of idiots [have their undies in an uproar](http://www.patheos.com/blogs/friendlyatheist/2015/02/01/creationist-ken-ham-is-angry-that-carnival-referenced-evolution-during-its-super-bowl-ad/) about Carnival’s reference to EEVILution.

Also hope that Mom’s name isn’t Jocasta and the guy has a quite complex complex.
