I didn’t see it as much “dementia” as “losing his zest for life through missing his glory days and maybe feeling lousy that our space program is stalled.” That sort of thing.

Loved the “in memory of the Starman” at the end.

The Hyundai one bugged me as well. Yay for the dad stalking his daughter and hampering her social life because he is terrified she’ll be sexually active! I know it’s an old stereotype, but I can’t be the only one a bit bothered by it. It’d be better if he were more worried about her being _treated_ well.

I’m usually only in it for the ads and the halftime show (which was pretty good), but the ads have been a rather blah bunch so far. I did like the Marilyn Monroe one, the alien one, and the Ant-Man Coke one.

Yeah, I don’t think Audi intended to suggest dementia either, especially since the commercial centers around him driving a 500 hp sports car, but that was the impression I got.

So far, “does anyone want to feed Scott Baio” is my winning line from the ads.

Overall, the commercials sucked this year. The only ones that stood out are the constipation and diarrhea commercials. And the only reason I’ll remember them is because my after the constipation commercial, my wife said “Are people at Super Bowl parties really digging constipation ads?” And I said “Probably not, but I guarantee there are more than a few guys texting themselves the website for future reference.” After the diarrhea commercial, she said “I imagine a few more guys just texted themselves on the down-low.”

But really, shitty ads this year. And not just the ones about shitting.

I thought the Budweiser’s “Won’t Back Down” commercial was ridiculous.

“We’re not for everybody.” Seriously, guys, check with your marketing department. Being the beer that’s for everybody is your reason for existing. You’re the safe beer. That’s fine but don’t try to pose as a rebel.

And you disappointed rocking chair.

Not really. Bud is for real folks, not those effete city dwellers and their orange flavored beers.

I didn’t see any of the commercials in the 1st hour, but form those I saw, I’ll take Helen Mirren over any of the others. I don’t care what she’s pitching.

The only ads I really liked were the [Apartments.com](http://Apartments.com) spot with Jeff and George and Weezy ('tho I missed the end, because my husband was busy explaining it to my daughter,) Helen Mirren, and the Heinz ad. The last had me at weiner dogs, but the ketchup packet was a great touch. (And the child looked so much like Number 2 Son, so… awwww!)

PuppyMonkeyBaby is nightmare fuel. And the Snickers ad made me miss Betty White and Danny Trejo. Then there were the ones that were so clever that I have no clue what they were advertising.

My favorite ad was the Hyundai “Ryansville” ad. “_Population: Yes._” Ryan in convertible to cop: “_Can I get a warning_?” Cop: “_Sure. Warning! Here comes your ticket_!” Hahaha! And the girls were killer cute, especially the one who grabs her friend’s hand and squees at the end. It never hurts to have attractive women in your commercial.

My far and away favorite was the Buick ad with the Odell Beckham Jr wedding bouquet catch; surprised it hasn’t been mentioned yet.

I was a bit confused by the Doritos ‘Crash the Super Bowl’ contest in that I thought of the three finalists, only the winner would air. The ultrasound entry aired early and so I assumed it had won. I was surprised when the dogs-in-a-trenchcoat entry aired later and [apparently](http://www.redlandsdailyfacts.com/general-news/20160207/doritos-dogs-wins-doritos-crash-the-super-bowl-contest) that one was the winner. My favorite finalist happened to be the one that didn’t air (unless I missed it), which riffed on Tindr.

Can we please prohibit drug companies from advertising during the Super Bowl?

Otherwise, a very forgettable SB for commrecials, ranging from not comprehending what the heck they where talking about to simply stupid (puppymonkeybaby).
