Holding them to a field goal attempt here is a clear win for the Patriots. And a capitulation from the Seahawks running it on 3rd and long. Whatever they do, the Seahawks _cannot_ allow the Patriots to score a touchdown on this next drive to take the lead. ---

While there hasn’t been any true shutouts in SB history, there have been several where the offense never scored, only getting points on special teams or defense: Redskins in **VII** (fumble return), Vikings in **IX** (blocked punt), and Giants in **XXXV** (kickoff return). ---
