That goes for Norway as well. Our governments like to keep us from temptation by taxing all the goodies 😉 And yes, Iceland is generally an expensive country (Sweden much less so). Which kinda goes without saying since it’s a rocky island in the middle of the North Atlantic. We need to import pretty much everything. ---

And, it’s only slightly easier than getting a camel through the eye of a needle – you need to be a member, and memberships are granted by a commitee which meets quarterly. The application form basically requires you to state how famous you are. ---

Deafeningly loud crappy music, pointlessly intrusive spotlighting, no room to scratch yer ass let alone turn around, nothing at all to eat and nothing but Red Bull and Cîroc to drink, and the women either aren’t available or aren’t women. ---

My ex-wife has been a bunch of times. She has friends who know people. I’ve always declined to go to those things because I hate bars/clubs of any stripe. Most of the time it’s been in L.A. If your name is on the list, you either have a separate entrance or jump to the front of the line in the main entrance. Then there will be a secondary VIP area which is a little less crowded but basically the same deal as the main area except that you are special. Finally, there will be a private room that’s more of a chill hangout area, usually with video cameras showing what’s going on in the rest of the club. The “private room” might actually be a very large room or a suite of rooms. She got into the super exclusive area of a club in London once and Paris Hilton was there too. Big whoop. ---

I can’t recall a situation in which I’ve thought “Wow, that guy’s an asshole” based on purchase price or amount of disposable income alone. Assholishness is behavior towards others, not really measured by disposable income. And, you know what, I’ve never been in one of those fancy clubs, but I’ve encountered a lot of assholes in country bars. ---
