Super glue in car door lock.

I’m obviously of no help here.

I hope the fix for this isn’t an expensive one. Do you think maybe the gym has a camera in the parking area, that would have maybe caught who did this?

Good luck, picunurse.

BTW, how do we know it’s Superglue, and not some other substance? Is it readily identifiable by sight?

And…does it matter? Or will the solution be the same regardless?

The solution “replace lock” would be the same regardless of what the stuff in the lock happens to be.

The solution “remove stuff from lock” will probably differ, depending on what the goop is, but the consensus seems to be that that solution is risky and may not work, so you’re probably better off with “replace lock”.

Do locks have plastic parts? Can you burn the glue off?

Well, I’m glad the OP has your permission in this respect…

Nail polish remover comes in both acetone and non-acetone form in Washington - I have purchased it here within the past year or two.

You’re locked out of your convertible?

Is the top down?

Seriously, what kind of person does that? … You weren’t illegally parked in a handicapped spot were you? People are the worst.

There are stereotypical angry pseudo-activist types in the PNW who would probably feel very righteous vandalizing a fat-cat consumer good like a Corvette.

Do you have comprehensive coverage? What’s your deductible? If the repair comes out for more than a couple hundred bucks, it might be worth it to file a vandalism claim. Comp claims are fairly unlikely to increase your rates.

Y’all shouldn’t be giving me any more evil ideas, you know. I’m perfectly capable of thinking up nasty stuff all on my own.

Now I have to resist another impulse.
