I want to make a slew of jokes, but this woman is pretty clearly mentally ill. It’s like Body Dimorphism, but focused on tanning and skin, rather than muscle or body fat. Ugh. ---

I am confused over the fake tanning comment, which to me implies those silly cremes that turn people orange. That is basically like dye for your skin, it looks cool when you shower and half of your body is tanned and half is not. But then the story is about tanning beds and her daughter having a sun burn. I almost think it has to be fake tanning with how she looks. ---

I thought [this picture](http://www.thesmokinggun.com/documents/child-burned-in-tanning-booth-578912) (which appears to be from the future) was even more …interesting, with the lipliner. She really does look like an Oompa-Loompa here. ---

I’ve been assaulted by images of this woman for two days now. Today a dermatologists diagnosed her with “tanorexia,” she can’t tell how dark she is. :rolleyes: She said it like it was an actual diagnosed disease. ---

It’s probably both tanning and dyed/painted skin. We can’t see her true hair color, but her eyes are light enought hat I doubt her ability to achieve that color naturally. I fully believe that she let her child into the booth. I’ve known two compulsive tanners. One I wasn’t close to but she was my best friend’s roommate. The other, strangely was the same friend’s boyfriend years after the roommate lady died of skin cancer. The boyfriend is an EMT and still healthy AFAIK, but leathery brown and looks 30 years older than he should. They were both people who just hated the way they looked, and the further their features faded into the coloring the happier they were. Very sad. ETA: What is up with her lips int eh first photo?
