I stand by my statement, **Geobabe**. By your rational, any Pit thread started should never have been. If, for example, **thinksnow** says something that gets everyone riled up, would you blame him for someone taking him to task? Even if what he said was a tongue-in-cheek comment that someone took literal? I can’t be responsible for the actions of other people. If I tell you to kill someone, you have to be fucked up enough to do it. With all due respect, your comment seems to be along the lines of “my son committed suicide because he was listening to heavy metal.”

The difference between “something that gets everyone riled up” or a “tongue-in-cheek comment that someone took literal[-ly],” resulting in a Pit thread _and_ “I’ve never been flamed” resulting in a Pit thread is that the first two cases are legitimate instances of ire that someone felt toward the flamee. The last case is simply an stance of MPSIMS, not a real bit of ire or froth, which is what the Pit is for.
People, in general, don’t have a problem with random flirting and they’ve said as much, but one-on-one flirt threads should be email and flirt-like Pit threads that really aren’t rants, flames or whatever, shouldn’t be at all or should be in MPSIMS. That’s all.

Oh yeah, I guess my point is that while the first two cases are ligit, the last (“I’ve never been flamed”) is silly and if someone then flames them, _because_ of that comment, well, then the maker of that comment is to blame. IMOSHO.
