Probably because sometimes shows can start unevenly and then get better, or vice versa (strong start, peter out). A few episodes aren’t necessarily a good indicator of how the rest will go. And if you watch 8-10 episodes to really “know”, well, at that point you’ve watched so much you might as well just finish it out.
(At least, that’s why I’m still DVRing Agents of Shield to watch…)

Pretty impressive production values. Looks light hearted and fun enough to appeal to more than just comic book fans. Hope it will be a success.
But probably too chic-flic-y for me. Also, what happened to Ally’s lips?

It’s kind of a shame this is coming after the [SNL Black Widow skit](https://youtu.be/j_5KgpN38hM), which makes fun of the idea of applying “chick flick” tropes to the super hero genre (or vice versa), because it actually looks like the show will be a blast. But I can’t watch the promo without feeling they’re proving the joke prophetic.
But I’d watch it.

Ah, well, perhaps another generational difference. I have no problem dropping a show after a few episodes, a season or two, or after several seasons (I haven’t watched NCIS in so long I have no idea who the disposable character was who was killed this week; but I used to watch it faithfully for the first 7 or 8 years).

That’s funny, and quite similar to the trailer. I don’t think Supergirl really needs a dark & edgy imagining though, and The Flash is light-hearted too, for the most part. The struggling working girl schtick is pretty old though.

Stage latte - hot drinks on tv are always empty cups, but it’s weird how actors never successfully act like they’re full.

I would be quite happy if “dark” superheroes just…went away. Perhaps forever. I want my superheroes to be fun, not angsty.

It looks good, but the trailer is WAY too long, I feel it spoiled A LOT of what the series will become.
They really just needed the first 2 min or so and let us discover the rest. The costume montage thing will now be wasted, the “drama” of the SHIEL…I mean the underground alien protectors not wanting her on the team is now dead because in some scenes she’s clearly working for them, the inner struggle about “who am I” is now dead because the trailer showed both it AND her breaking out of it.
I’m not writing the show off by any means, and TBH I’m going to watch it now BECAUSE of the trailer, but I think they showed a bit too many of their cards

But FUN superheroes are for CHILDREN! If you don’t make them dark, angsty and completely regardless of human life, it’ll be just like the old Superfriends cartoon and we all know how corny that was, don’t we? /snark

Yeah, some of it looks good. The actor playing Supergirl looks cute and like she’s having fun. Her attitude seems kind of infectious. All that being said, the harried gofer for the devil boss, the she’s not pretty because her hair is in a pony tail and she has glasses bit, losing her ability to talk in front of the cute guy, and all that other stuff seems like such overused tropes. But she’s cute and energetic so maybe that will carry the show until they can develop past all of that.
I also think there should be more yellow in the costume, that S Shield need yellow in it for balance, otherwise it’s too much blue and red. At least that’s my opinion, but what do I know, I don’t make millions as a TV producer.

Please gawd no, **no more fucking dark and gritty** , i am so fucking tired of dark and gritty.
Nice shout-out to Superman: The Movie.
I liked it, plan on watching it.
