Not really magical, but his powers are extra-dimensional so the effect is the same. The Thunderbolt in the JSA is the same.

yes, cyborg Superman did this, before real supes came back to life… but, IIRC, the asteroid was picked up by a shuttle and taken to Apokolips in the ‘Superman/Doomsday: Hunter/Prey’ arc
