Hey **SpiceTea** , I see Orange, Grape, and Strawberry Crush in glass bottles at Giant Eagle here all the time. They also have Coke in glass commerative glass bottles. We get Faygo in glass bottles a lot too.

The Big Lots where I work always has Count Chocula, Boo-Berry and Tato-Skins all the time.

They also sell regular Mr. Pibb at the Sheetz gas station in Breezewood, Pennsylvania

I miss: {list}
[li]Apple Cinnamon Cheerios[/li][li] Freakies[/li][li]Flinstones Push Pops[/li]Tropical Sprite Remix

Man, you all are bringing back fond memories for me…

**Danish-go-rounds!** Yeah, I had completely forgotten about those things.

And, wow, those **Funny Face drink mix** names! I hadn’t thought of Freckle Face Strawberry in decades!

Hmmmmm. I have been looking for **raisen biscuits** in the supermarket for at least a couple of years now when I happen to remember them. I never find them, but immediately think, "oh, I guess they just happen to be out right now.! Noooo! Could it be true that they truly do not make them anymore?? That’s just too harsh.

I remember a thing from the 60’s that may not be classified as food really. It was cinnamon flavored, really spicy hot toothpicks. Think “fireballs” in toothpick form. We as kids loved those things. Not sure though if they were sold truly as flavored toothpicks or some kind of candy.

Also, as a non-food item, I really miss **Affinitiy** hair conditioner. It was from the 1980’s. It had the best fragrance in the world.

In the UK, i dearly miss Whispas.

They were chunky bars with a bubbling effect inside. More delicate than Aero’s which just seemed like too much chocolate and not enough bubbles.

Replaced by Cadbury’s in their all new line up of bars to be broken into chunks, a much inferior product. The ratio of chocolate and bubbles inside was too little to the outer shell of chocolate, unsatisfying to say the least.

> 1. [South] American Soft Drink - Anyone know where I can get Guarana soda in Chicago?

In a big city like Chicago, there must be at least one Brazilian store. That’s your first step. If you don’t find success there, check the international section of a good supermarket. If all else fails, order some [here](http://www.sendexnet.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=CTGY&Store_Code=100&Category_Code=21201).

If anything, guarana is becoming more accessible to Americans. They are even bottling it in the States these days. We used to buy ours in the Ironbound section of Newark. Happily, our local supermarket started selling the stuff in two liter bottles.

>
> Hope that helps! 😃

Nope, the one with the ruler in the wrapper was the Marathon bar, which is now called the “Curly Wurly.” I don’t think the Charleston Chew ever had a ruler. The thing with Marathon was that it was eight inches long.

I LOVED 'Tato Skins!

“'Tato skins have baked potato a-peel
something-something-something
and skins that are real!”

We sell a similar product (I work at a gas station/convenience store), TGI Friday’s potato skin chips, but the are only available in flavors - Sour cream and onion, and bacon-cheddar. I ONLY want them PLAIN, like a regular potato chip! _sigh_

I just thought of another one: “New York Style” brand Bagel Chips, the cinnamon raisin variety (in the red bag). For some reason we can get the garlic kind here (San Jose, CA) but the cinnamon raisin ones have disappeared.

Anybody seen these? I’d be happy to pay for a bag or a case. 🙂

I second the **Creamy Garlic Chicken Helper**! That stuff was great!

I miss \*\*grape Tang \*\* (this was early 70s, when I was a toddler) and **Alpha Bits**. I’ve been looking for them for about 6 months, no matter what store I was in. Now, all of a sudden, they’re back, but unsweetened! WTF?!

We have **pudding pops** here at Price Chopper. When I saw them, I called my husband over and said, “LOOK!” We looked at the freezer, looked at each other with glee and looked back at the freezer in disbelief.

The thing is, my mother rarely bought them for us because there’s too much sugar, but now that they’re back, I don’t buy them for that very same reason.

Thanks mom!

However, overall, I think you’re right, **winterhawk11** , thanks for looking!

> The other kid thing I miss is Pillsbury(?) Date Nut Bars. It was a dessert mix in a box that made up into a crumbly base crust, a layer of sweet date goop, and a crumbly topping mixture which was baked for 15-20 minutes. Very tasty, not too sweet. I haven’t seen it since the 1970s. But I keep looking.

Hijack. Isn’t that a ready-mix of what’s known in Western Canada as Matrimonial cake? AKA Date Squares, but really, Matrimonial Cake?

Yes! ditto. I just had a flood of awesome childhood memories when I checked that website out.

It’s funny, if you were to ask me before I read this thread “How long is the Marathon bar?” I would have been willing to bet the farm that it was _at least_ 12 inches long.

EasyCheese is definitely one of my favorites, and I’ve been looking for the bacon flavored variety for years!! I was excited to see your link…but I searched on my Zip Code…and there is none sold within 20 miles!!! I’ll have to check the stores in Florida when I go on vacation…

Squeez-a-snack, although a similar sort of processed, flavored cheese, was packaged in a plastic roll–like pillsbury cookie dough, but smaller–with a “dispenser” (really, just a star-shaped hole, with a cap) in the middle.

Yummy stuff!
