Subtitled: The most confusing 6@6 poll to date. The explanation of Solo / Side Projects only is listed throughout the tread, so fire up the iPod, get your CD’s off the shelf or start up your computer’s jukebox program and let’s get to voting.

**First: The Who’s, What’s, Where’s & Why’s of the Supplemental Poll**
In an attempt to squeeze as many bands in the shortest amount of time possible, as a regular feature, The Monday 6 @ 6 Poll, includes a Headliner poll and a Supplemental poll. This **Steven Stills (solo) / Manassas / Stills & Young, Crosby & Nash / David Crosby (solo), Nash & Young / Graham Nash (solo)** poll, like the featured [**Crosby Stills Nash (& Young)**](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=276024) and the [**Neil Young Solo**](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=276026) headliner poll threads will be closed and tallied 7 days from today, Tuesday September 21, 2004 at or about 6PM EDT. Results from all 3 polls will be posted a few minutes later on that same day in _Week #41_’s featured _Cure 6 @ 6 Poll_.

I didn’t include the album from which the track came from. I’ll try to post the whole spreadsheet up on [doteasy.com](http://doteasy.com) and link it _sometime in the future_.

**Third: The Poll & How it Works**
It’s simple enough, post your **6** favorite songs by the artist. Personal observations, opinions, liner notes, comments and the like are always welcome but are in no means required. You **May** include Cover Versions. If you specify Live version, it will be noted, but tallied together with the studio version of the same title. My only request of you is to please _try_ to be as accurate as possible when naming your favorite tracks. Remember: This is the poll for the tracks that came as a result of side projects. CSNY & Neil Young tracks get placed in the other 2 polls.

**Lastly: The Supplemental Poll Artist of the Week**
I know what you’re thinking, ‘Shut the hell up and get on with the poll already damnit!’ So, without further ado: **Steven Stills (solo) / Manassas / Stills & Young, Crosby & Nash / David Crosby (solo), Nash & Young / Graham Nash (solo)**.

Have any of the solo projects released a song that’s popular enough to knock Elvis Costello’s “Watching the Detectives” off the top vote getter position? You never know – though I’ll concede the odds of Elvis’ continued reign is pretty much a forgone conclusion ‘til at least week #50. Those answers and much more next week, same Eastern Standard Time, same web address.

**Thanking you all in advance.** I’m sure to see all of you at the other \*\*[Crosby Stills Nash (& Young)\*\*](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=276024) and **[Neil Young](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=276026)** polls. **Have a great week!**

One Last Reminder: Tracks by CSN or CSNY get voted on separately: Here: [At The Featured **Crosby Stills Nash (& Young)** Poll](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=276024). If you’d like to vote for tracks from any of Neil Young’s solo works, those selections get posted here: [At The **Neil Young** Solo Headliner poll](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=276026). Oh Yeah, one last thing: Any votes for The Byrds, Hollies or Buffalo Springfield tracks **will not** be counted: Those selections were (or will be) in separate polls.

Tracks released by the following artists: [ul][li]Steven Stills (solo), [/li][li]Manassas,[/li][li]Stills & Young,[/li][li]Crosby & Nash, [/li][li]David Crosby (solo),[/li][li]Nash & Young or[/li][li]Graham Nash (solo).[/ul]Should be included in this thread.[/li]
Here are my 6 Favorite ‘Side / Solo Project’ Selections:

1. It Doesn’t Matter (By Steven Stills & Manassas)
I wasn’t around for the release of the album, but does anyone recall what was the group referred to as: Was it Manassas, Steven Stills or Steven Stills & Manassas?
2. Love The One Your With (By Steven Stills)
From the 1970 Solo Album of the same name
3. Long May You Run (By The Stills-Young Band)
It’s probably the best track on the album of the same name
4. Immigration Man (By Graham Nash & David Crosby)
From the original GN/DC solo album. If I had room, I’d definitely include Southbound Train
5. Rock And Roll Crazies / Cuban Bluegrass (By Steven Stills & Manassas)
From the great & almost forgotten about Manassas album. I’ll concede it sounds a little dated, but I ‘still’ love listening to it.
6. Compass (By David Crosby)
I first heard this song in the mid-90’s when he performed it live on Pete Fornatale’s WNEW-FM radio program ‘Mixed Bag’ with an acoustic guitar he brought along with him. It was probably one of the first appearances he made after his release from prison. Every time I listen to the grainy, bootleg, cassette recording I made of it I’m amazed at the song’s meaning & emotion.

Allright, jeez, Stephen Stills deserves his own poll and I could see how someone could say the Hollies deserve one as well. Manassas is way up there on my all time list. But anyway:

6\> Cowboy Movie (Crosby - If I Could Only Remember My Name)
5\> Colorado (Stills w/ Manassas)
4\> Southbound Train (Nash & Crosby)
3\> Move Around (Stills w/ Manassas)
2\> Love the One Your With (Stills)
1\> How Far (Stills w/ Manassas - seriously, you should check this album out)

I, too, think Stills should have his own poll, but what’r’ya gonna do?

Here’s my list of solos from these guys:

1. So Begins the Task (Stills w/Manassas)
2. Fallen Eagle (Stills w/Manassas)
3. JOhnny’s Garden (Stills w/Manassas)
4. Tamalpais (At about 3) (Crosby)
5. As I Come of Age (Stills)
6. It Doesn’t Matter (Stills w/Manassas)
