I say we put the abortion clinic on a bus that never goes below 50 mph. Can’t shut it down because it would be interfering with interstate commerce. ---

Note that this isn’t just a law its meant to be an amendment to the state constitution. The [guy](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Larry_Pittman) listed as the Bills first sponsor is a real piece of work. This isn’t his first trip to crazytown. He proposed repealing the section of the NC constitution that prohibited NC from seceding which was put in place as a precondition of NC rejoining the union after the civil war On Facebook he called Seattle BLM protesters ‘thugs’ and ‘vermin’ and suggested police ‘shoot’ those resisting arrest. He posted a comment on April 11, 2017, stating that North Carolina should uphold traditional marriage “in spite of the opinion of a federal court that had no business interfering.” Pittman’s post in reference to the U.S. Supreme Court led to several comments on states’ rights and a post telling Pittman that the Civil War. Pittman responded in a post on April 12, 2017, saying: “And if Hitler had won, should the world just get over it? Lincoln was the same sort if [sic] tyrant, and personally responsible for the deaths of over 800,000 Americans in a war that was unnecessary and unconstitutional.” On climate Change: “Our climate runs on a cycle. It goes up and it goes down and the Lord designed it that way. And the main thing that causes global warming is the Earth’s relationship to a big ball of gas that’s burning out there that we call the Sun. And it is the height of hubris for human beings to think that we can have any effect on that.” ---

We can never know what _would_ have happened if the draft had not been leaked, but I take that report with a grain of salt. Sure, Roberts _tried_ to get Kavanaugh to change his vote; I believe that. But I’m skeptical that he would have been successful in any case. ---

I’m in the Ginny Thomas camp myself. Interestingly, when it was first leaked, there were calls to find out who did it, and lots of talk of investigation. Haven’t heard much about it since, which tells me that they know who did it, and that they align with the majority of the court. ---

If it is true that Kavanaugh has the potential to get squeamish about some of these decisions when there isn’t a fait accompli presented by the leak then we could maybe expect him to have somewhat moderated opinions on gay marriage and the like. Not that I think that will happen. ---

It seems that Alito has now sprouted a beard and is in Europe mocking foreign leaders who dared to criticize overturning _Roe v Wade_. He implied that these foreign leaders, being foreign and all, had no understanding of American law.
