Some guys are clueless and stupid. I was recently privy to a conversation of classmates much like **Honeydew** , and you would not believe some of the women that were trashed. A 5’3 girl weighing in at no more than 100 lbs. and what has to be (from looking at her) a size 0 called “huge and a cow”. A girl who has been modeling for years and is a Miss Maryland contestant called “the ugliest girl in the class” amongst other such stupid accusations. The boys’ girlfriends were with us, and all of them were decent looking at best. I don’t know what guys are thinking sometimes. ---

The problem about arguing with somebody who’s insensitive is that it’s like wrestling with a pig–first you get all muddy, and then you realize that the pig is enjoying it. ---

Now I know why one of my best friends was single the whole time she was at grad school at Purdue (in civil engineering). She has always been skinny, but she would never in a million years put up with a guy with that attitude, even if it weren’t directed at her. Grad school was a looong dry spell for her. She always complained about the anti-woman atmosphere on campus, and I always thought she was exaggerating. Maybe she wasn’t, after all. ---

I currently attend Purdue…and there are a lot of nice looking women on this campus. They ran an interview a few days later and Josh apologized for his letter, his excuse was that his girlfriend just broke up with him and he was angry. Also, his perception of fat might not be the same as mine or anyone else’s. You never know. ---

I feel that it goes back to that primative grade school attitude of “what I can’t have but want”, I shall trash. You know, if those kids can’t _make_ someone give them that toy they just HAVE to have, it’s yucky. Or stupid. Or worthless. Or dumb. You get the picture. ---

This really explains the vibe I got all through high school. I’d bring my fat self into a room, and the boys would turn around to see who was coming into the room. Seeing it was just me, they got this look on their face like, “Oh, a waste of oxygen. A _real_ girl could have walked in, but instead we got her. Just taking up space.” I instinctively got the message, and it’s the same one that people have speculated about here. I also think that hopefool also has a point. I’m sure that sometimes, a girl was actually pretty enough (and who knows, even _I_ might have been marginally “pretty enough” on some days, at least in some boys’ eyes) but because the boys knew that the girls wouldn’t touch them with a ten foot pole, they trashed her instead. ---

We live in a society that thinks Carre Otis is “plus size.” I don’t know what the fuck is wrong with men who are so overly judgmental of women’s weight. Thanks **CanvasShoes** and **yosemitebabe**. That was just an educated WAG. 😉 However, I think a further blow to this kind of guys’ mentality is that, _gasp_, even a “less than perfect” female might turn them down as well. I mean, I’m sure it’s debilitating to be rejected by the likes of Pamela Anderson or any of her movie/pop starlet brethren, but then they can at least comfort themselves with the idea that they lost out to the very best. But if they couldn’t score with the likes of some ol’ average chick (a la me, for example – who barely cleans up well), then projection would dictate that the problem lies with the woman, not them. I think that it’s anyway. ---

**Indygrrl** , who in the fucking world considers her to be overweight!? She was in Sports Illustrated, for goodness sake. Please don’t take this as me being bitchy towards you, because that is not my intent. I just can’t believe ANYONE would find her fat. No, she’s not an anorexic twig. But she is certainly svelte, slender, and beautifully shaped. And I completely agree with the above speculation on men’s actions. ---
