Or is this like Trump putting a person with exactly zero medical credentials or experience who is a fountain of conspiracy theories in charge of Health and Human Services? I oppose ungrounded fear-mongering as much as anyone, but a sober look here will reveal - SCOTUS has been nakedly doing Trump’s bidding for 8 years now. - Republicans hold both houses of congress - They also hold that other branch - Trump is making appointments that seem actively intended to destroy the federal government, military and all. What constraints do you see on Trump doing whatever he wants for the next 4 years? Who is going to stop him, except for cholesterol and Mother Nature? ---

Your desperate hyperbole aside, it still remains within the realm of genuine possibility that Trump and the GOP could continue to blow through every norm and ignore every check and balance in the system. Der\_Trihs is focusing on a worst case scenario that is extreme but _not impossible_. That’s the fucking problem. The right have already removed the bolts from so many guardrails and plan to remove so many more that we cannot _assume_ they will hold. We can only hope. ---
