Also, he’s voted for the person that’s putting his (same sex) marriage on the line. A marriage that he had to have done in another state because it wasn’t recognized in Wisconsin at the time, under Scott Walker, who he presumably voted for. ---

All these “businessmen” care about is lower taxes and loosened regulations. It so upsets them to their core to have to pay taxes, or to forego one red cent in compliance, for the good of someone else that nothing else matters. It makes their own lives less pleasant, or even puts them at risk? Still worth it to hold on to every last penny. Because if you have money you can work around that. ---

Consider also, that for very high levels of “businessmen” (oligarchs) sending the economy into the tank every now and then is actually good for them. It gives them a chance to gorge themselves on the margins, buying up property and industry, hiring up trained workers, for Pennie’s on the dollar, and then reap the rewards when the economy rebounds. Kind of like how privatization is bad for the public but great for the billionaires who get to fill the void at an inflated cost and eat the excess. The trick is in obfuscating and convincing small business owners that when Republicans talk about all the great things they’ll do for business, it means them. Unfortunately, given their base is most interested in oppression and bigotry (of people who aren’t them, of course), it doesn’t really take much obfuscation or convincing. Just a fig leaf, really. Fuck all of 'em. ---
