She had been burning the candle at both ends for two years, working Mon-Thurs on the show, then touring and doing standup on the weekends and during recording breaks. Basically going full throttle for two years and of the two endeavors she much preferred standup, so she finally called it quits. However she has claimed she wanted someone to replace her as the show was a valuable venue for exposing lesser known comedians to a wider audience. Unfortunately CBS wanted her more than the show and parent company Paramount is going through a complicated multi-billion $ merger with Skydance. So it was cheaper to lease out a low-performing time slot than continue to finance the show without Tomlinson. ---
