This column in today’s NYTimes is rather brilliant. It explains to my satisfaction why the MAGAts hate Democrats AND why they’re so upset that apparently there is no Epstein list. It’s worth reading the whole thing. And when they’ve survived and gotten better, they or their families have said, _“Well, we had a lot of people praying!”_ And I’ve thought, and sometimes been bold enough to say out loud, _“The people who died had a lot of people praying, too.”_ Which is the basis of one of my personal sayings, _“Sometimes you do everything right, and they still die.”_ Including praying. We’ve heard their leaders say about various different issues e.g. election denialism, “I **know** this is so, but I just can’t prove it.” So as I said it in another thread: what if what they are saying is, _“we know they’re up to no good – if you got nothin’ MAKE SOMETHING UP if that’s what it takes to take them down!”_ Because I can see their minds working that way. ---

Serious blind allegiance. Cult deprogramming comes to mind. Very difficult to break through this kind of mindset. (Jesus could return and disavow trump and magas would toss him out) I don’t know if the anti trump memes will help, but they certainly are more gut level than policy papers.
