Yes, I am aware of Jewish kosher rules. Olive oil has been used since Biblical times and is parve. So far as I know coconut and avocado oils are also parve. Meanwhile, kosher observant Jews will still have all the various minefields to deal with, such as McDonald’s fries, for all that they’re currently fried in vegetable oil, are nonetheless dairy because of the use of milk proteins in their production. That’s a random example I pulled out of my backside, there are probably even better examples out there. Kosher observant Jews will still have to read labels and work around the fact most of the world doesn’t follow their rules. ---

They may have been referring to his commuting the sentence of Leonard Peltier, who is widely believed to have been wrongfully convicted and had already served nearly 50 years. Pretty big stretch to fit that whataboutism in there. ---
