Two of my favorite BRIEF musical interludes: Castle - At the end of the episode, Rick invites the detectives to drink the McGuffin with him at the McGuffin. To persuade Beckett, he starts singing Billy Joel’s “Piano Man.” Then Ryan adds a line. Then Esposito. Then the Captain! Finally Kate sings out the next line and they all troop out of the precinct singing the chorus. One subplot to an episode of “L.A. Law” Season 3 Episode 18 featured The Sensations, a blues singing group, suing The New Sensation for how the newer group’s treatment of the older group’s songs. This set up a battle of the bands in the courtroom. ---
