Surprising musical moments on a usually non-musical television show

They weren’t on the Minnow. They were in a crate that washed up on the island.

Nope, her sister who last I heard was a college professor.

Two of my favorite BRIEF musical interludes:

Castle - At the end of the episode, Rick invites the detectives to drink the McGuffin with him at the McGuffin. To persuade Beckett, he starts singing Billy Joel’s “Piano Man.” Then Ryan adds a line. Then Esposito. Then the Captain! Finally Kate sings out the next line and they all troop out of the precinct singing the chorus.

Big Bang Theory -

That reminds me of this bit from Cheers:

I’m not where I can post a link, but Robert Downey Jr. snging River on Ally McBeal.

Barry White Dance on Ally McBeal

Person of Interest had some of the best needle drops TV history, but there wasn’t any onscreen singing… except for once, where Finch found himself accidentally undercover as the groom’s long-lost Irish uncle at a wedding, and was asked to sing:

I enjoyed the episode of The Boys when Kimiko sang “I Got Rhythm.”

One subplot to an episode of “L.A. Law” Season 3 Episode 18 featured The Sensations, a blues singing group, suing The New Sensation for how the newer group’s treatment of the older group’s songs. This set up a battle of the bands in the courtroom.

I almost chocked on my spaghetti !

Michael Dunn and Phoebe Dorin were a singing/comedy duo in New York when they were cast as Dr. Loveless and Antoinette on The Wild Wild West, where they got to “do their thing” on several episodes. And then Mrs. Dunn broke up the act.
