Sitting at the pub tonight with an old friend and a story about today’s funerals came on. Unprompted he said, “You know, I’ve grown up with guns, had them my whole life. I’m done. Take them all. I’m just sick of it.” It’s an anecdote and doesn’t equal data, but it’s telling. ---

Back to politics, some papers polled the California congressional delegation about gun control. [Story here.](http://www.mercurynews.com/nation-world/ci_22218204/gun-debate-splits-california-house-members). All 32 Democratic House members supported enhanced gun control. Only one of 15 Republican members answered. (He was against it.) They seem to be scared by this issue now, aren’t they?
