^What about \*69 or \*67 or whichever one is supposed to call back the number that just called you? I don’t remember which is correct and google is being surprisingly unhelpful, but maybe someone else knows. eta: oops. Ferret Herder knows! ---

Why, I _do_ believe I’m being brushed off! I called TurboTax about my tax e-filing problem last Monday, I called them again today since I hadn’t heard from them, and they told me that they would send me an email with all the information I need to fix my problem in five to 10 minutes. I think they were just trying to get me off the phone (since it hasn’t come in yet)! I do hope I’m wrong. I’d like to get my stupid taxes finished and out of my hair. ---

I dunno what did it, but I have something you should try for getting rid of it: DGL, which is short for deglycyrrhizinated licorice. It doesn’t taste good (sort of like vaguely sweet stale coffee grounds), but it makes the heartburn go away IMMEDIATELY. I wish I’d known about it when I was pregnant! It’ll be in the hippie medicine section of your crunchiest grocery store. ---

Dammitdammitdammit. I have a folder that I keep for reference when I fill out job applications. It has old applications and stuff that I use so that I don’t have to remember dates etc. every time. I can’t find the goddamn thing. I moved, and it’s in a box somewhere…hopefully. I am being badgered to apply for a job that thank god doesn’t close until the 5th, and I wanted to do the application and resume last night. This morning I got an e-mail from a person who works there saying that the supervisor in charge of hiring for that position is WAITING for my application and asks her about it every day. I"M TRYING DUDE!! Well, if I don’t find it tonight I’ll start from scratch. ---

Also, I went to the dentist today to get my bridge permanently cemented in, and they had completely mis-matched the colour - it was blinding white, and my teeth are not. So I drove over to the lab, they fixed the colour, I drove back to the dentist, and they were finally able to cement it in. I am having serious doubts about this dental clinic - they make me wait every time I go there, the work is questionable, and two major errors with this last very expensive work. I go there because they do sedation dentistry, but I think I need to look for another dentist. (Arbour Lake Dental, for any Calgarians interested.) ---

Back when I lost my uterus, I spent a lot of time crying about it. I wasn’t a woman anymore, and I mourned the loss. Now that I’ve been without it for half my life, I’m really happy that I don’t have to worry about anything but random bleeding. I’d really love to get rid of my one remaining ovary now. The random bleeding just ticks me off. ---

[Portland's "no on fluoride" morons - The BBQ Pit - Straight Dope Message Board](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=689017) brought me back to rant. One of the receptionists where I work is anti-vax. Her kid in in the hospital now, dealing with chicken pox, its in his eyes. Its possible that he will go blind and/or die from this. She wants people to donate their PTO so she can be at the hospital with him. I’m kinda conflicted about this. I know the kid needs his Mom, but I think its wrong for her to expect us to give up our PTO because this is happening. Its totally her fault, IMO. I gave up some PTO for the kid, not for the idiot Mom. ---

As far as the teeth, if they don’t fit, they were made wrong. I have friends who have appliances in their mouth and they all agree that if they didn’t fit properly, they had to do lots of complaining to get it right. ---
