Switching tribes would have meant an easy death. If your new team were to lose immunity immediately you would have virtually no chance of developing a rapport with them before the vote. If you would survive til the merger, what are the chances of your old tribe forgiving you for switching? I cannot believe that Stephanie can be more obnoxious than Knobb. She was intelligent and capable. So what if she wants to sleep out in the rain? More room for me under that pitiful shelter! Ted lost their boat for them. He’s lucky he wasn’t on the other team. They voted Jed off for losing the NET, let alone the BOAT and the net. I think that mistake will cost him at the next tribal council. ---

I like this season fine because… well, because I like all Surivors, but this one is suffering from the same problem as Survivor: Africa–too many assholes, which is the result of poor casting decisions more than anything (vis-a-vis casting someone and “well, whadda ya know? s/he’s an asshole!”) The show is much better when they cast people that are there to play the game instead of there to get out of bartending and into guest starring roles on Hollywood Squares. Would you rather play _Diplomacy_ with a bunch of other people who WANT to play _Diplomacy_–even if it means that they might backstab you, outfox you, etc.–or with a bunch of people who’ll play the game with you, but not because they’re actually interested in the game so much as a gig co-hosting _Card Sharks_. I think what happened this season is that MB looked at last season and said–boy, were Rob and Sean assholes compared to those other guys who were just there playing “Survivor”. Well, if that’s interesting to viewers then maybe what we should do is cast a whole bunch of 'em! And that’s the problem: I don’t want to watch “Asshole”, I want to watch “Survivor”, so the quicker they can vote 'em off, the happier I’ll be. ---

I don’t know how the smaller tribe can stand Jan. This exchange is particluar was hilarious to me: Jan: We got tree mail!!! Somebody: What’s it say? Jan: It’s money! 20, 40, 60… Someone else: What’s the note say? Jan: A thousand dollars!! Someone: American? Jan: Yeah! Clay: WHAT’S THE NOTE SAY? Jan: It’s American! All: THE NOTE! Y’know, given the fact that Jan’s yelling voice could crack rocks, the goddamn lazy bastards in Chuay Gahn have only themselves to blame for not _going ashore_ when she said they had treemail. I was sitting watching them and thinking, “Well, if you want to find out what the note says, why don’t you just go and read it?” Now that Sook Jai has gotten rid of most of the 'Tude Trio, I’m liking them more than Chuay Gahn. Which surprises me, given my strong initial reaction to them. I still think they’re the Young and the Clueless, but… ---

Sorting fish? :rolleyes: The spiking of the challenges continues. With team geezer down 2 people I knew Burnett would use one of the easy IC challenges **again** , but this is just sad. Stephanie should have jumped. What she was thinking I don’t know. 😕 Shii Ann was licking her fingers, then grabbing more food. That was a bit gross. Plus her trying to play the race card to explain people don’t like her :rolleyes: . Shii Ann, people don’t like you because you a bit of a bitch. Remember the “Shii Devil” crack you made? Still she is interesting to watch, and a thousand times less annoying then the tattoed stupid quote producing machine. Robb, you pissed off the wrong people with your antics. The merge is coming soon, and your have proven to be untrustworthy and annoying. The first IC they lose you are gone. Jan you lucked out this week, but they can’t keep these using these silly IC’s forever, a real one involving running and swimming is coming, and when it does you are gone. Robb your a big sissy too. ---

Favorite moments: Shi Ann - **I’m the only minority member on this island.** Is Ted on a different Island? He’s pretty hard to miss. Surely you’ve seen him at challenges. Jake - **We heard Knob hollering, which is nothing unusual for that tool.** Knobb (from preview) - **I’m not fucking stupid.** Uh, hate to disagree with you baby… Knobb again - referring to female tribe members as **dude!** Clay (aside to camera referring to granny - **Well no shit Sherlock!** The non-switch has to be the winner for the most overhyped non-event in Survivor history. Steph is the posterchild for how effectively you can shoot yourself in the foot with a bad attitude at the start. Brian strikes me as an actually funny fella. His sardonic cracks about “wimmens work” last week, and his sleepy responses to Ted upon hearing the boat was gone, made me think he’d be a riot to hang with. Who expected Helen to burst into song like that, and then press on through multiple verses? Seemed a little - odd. Kinda serious question: So, exactly how dumb is Knobb. Are we talking borderline intelligence? Or does he actually have some talents that he hides extremely effectively? He sure seems happy, but it is hard to imagine him functioning independently. ---

Nobb has had it out for Shii Ann since the whole stupid look at my hands thing from the first day on the island. I don’t think this is a race issue as much as a Robb is a big fat moron who can’t stand Shii Ann’s somewhat pissy manner (as noticed by other tribe members too, in fairness). I think she is a bit of a hoot. However, I did lose a good deal of respect for her after that whiny complaint she made. Penny is still my pick to win it all. Has been since week 2. Mmmm Penny. . . . 😃 ---

I think Shii Ann is overreacting to being the only minority woman on the show. Vecepia was the only minority woman on last year’s show and it didn’t hold her back. I have to wonder how much anti-Shii feeling there actually is and how much is the product of editing. People are undoubtedly routinely probing each other for their opinions on teammates and the producers may have chosen to only show people talking about Shii Ann in order to make it look like there is a groundswell of opinion rising against her and make it less obvious Stephanie was going to be voted out. By the way, the complaints about the finger licking were from the auction. Robb was saying there were utensils and everyone was using them except Shii Ann. But it was funny to see people grossed out by Shii Ann eating a chicken liver and then see those same people eating baked grubs a day later. Assume there will be one more immunity challenge before the merger. Robb or Jan are going to go. Both are outside of their tribal alliances and Robb will have outlived his usefulness as a physically strong teammate when individual competition begins. If Jan goes, the Chewing Gums will be down four-six after the merger, and will undoubtedly be picked off one by one. Robb’s too stupid to realize it’s in his best advantage to switch alliances (besides “his” tribe still has all the babes) and the other four Soup Guys have no reason to. If Robb goes the tribes will go in five-five, which will mean there will be one interesting week as they try to figure out who’s got votes against them. If I recall, Clay and Shii Ann are the only two vulnerable ones (assuming past votes is still the tiebreaker). ---

I can’t convince myself to hate Knobb. He’s just too stupid. And I don’t see him as a huge threat at any time. Whatever his physical strengths, he won’t run the table. And I can’t see him going far in any brainy challenge - such as “remember the story” or “past-teammates-jeopardy.” I think of him like an annoying puppy, that doesn’t know it is being annoying. I can imagine, tho, that he would be extremely difficult to live with. You’d really wish he came with a volume control. But he might provide the occasional amusing diversion. I think Brian is playing very well right now. Picking one from each tribe, I’ll say him and Penny as the final 2. Clay and Ted will piss enough folk off pretty quickly, and show their apparent incompetence in challenges. Jake - old guys traditionally have not gone all the way, tho he could be a final 3. Helen - we’ll see. She doesn’t seem to fit in. Too much of a loner. Granny - put her out of our misery. Adds NOTHING and irritates EVERYONE. Shi-Ann is a dark horse. They could be editing it to mislead. The cop hasn’t shown anything one way or another. For them to not play him up, he must really be a black hole. So my final 4 is Jake, Brian, Penny, Shi-Ann. ---
