> Right. Therefore make enemies of the unstable and inconsequential. Bust the pots of someone psychotic, like Judd. Or someone harmless, like Cindy.

In a situation where there’s only seven people voting, there are no inconsequential or harmless people.

I posted that same exact link in a previous Survivor thread several weeks ago when discussing how hard it would be to actually recognise him at the drop of a hat. But thanks for reposting it. 🙂

I guess we got spared a clip show this season.

A TV guide interview with Burnett and Probst revealed that for some inexplicable reason, Danni’s house had a picture of Gary in it while she was growing up. I’m guessing it was one of those picture-with-a-fan autograph deals that her father did. But seriously, Gary Hogeboom? Unless Danni is from Arizona, where Gary was the starter in the 89 season. Then it would actually be plausible.

You guys are killing me with your references to the RC pissing people off and being strategically significant. Can anybody give me the rundown on what happened? All I know is that when I started watching, Lydia was pissed, and there seemed to be lingering RC issues in the tribe.

Danni is from Kansas so there doesn’t appear to be any particular geographical connection. But I don’t see why it’s considered that unlikely that an admitted sports fanatic would recognize an NFL quarterback (and Gary was still actively playing when Danni was 14).

One surprise I’ve read is that Danni is apparently a fairly successful actress and model and was married to country music singer Wade Hayes. She may conceivably have more money than Gary does.

Generally, I would agree, but in this case, both Judd and Cindy fit the bill, I believe. Judd is just James with less finesse, and Cindy could draw Steph’s jealousy. True there are only a few, but of those few, Lydia picked just about the worst possible one to antagonize.

I’ll put you out of your misery! It was one of those challenges where everyone starts with three pots with their names on it.

Jeff asks a series of questions and if you get one right, you get to bust someone else’s pot. Once all of your pots are busted, you are out. The player with the last pot gets to go on a lavish reward trip.

Lydia, thinking she had eaten more than others at previous rewards, targeted Steph. Not only did she pop her once, she popped her a second time.

Steph was pissed and threw a hissy when she got back to camp. Instantly, Lydia was persona non grata with the dominant alliance.

Yeah, but there isn’t $1M on the line at your average Thanksgiving get together! 🙂

Seriously, the smart people just keep their mouths shut as much as possible When Probst tries to goad you at TC, you just say “Hey, I’m having a great time out here with all these fun people.” End of story.

The '85 Bears nipped Dallas 44-0 in Dallas. Ya think Hogeboom got his ass kicked in that game?

In a previous Survivor thread, Danni’s knowledge of Gary’s true identity was discussed at great length. It seems as though Danni’s dad went to the same college as Gary and was a HUGE fan of his So, she was inundated with Gary Hogeboom stories and pictures as a child, as well as (I would assume) religious viewing of his televised games.

Anyway - Lydia’s an idiot, and Judd’s a dumbass. I was wondering when Gary would out him with his huge lie.

What’s the source of the bad blood between Gary and Cindy? She seems to be pretty much flying under the radar for the most part.

That’s what I wondered.
I was also glad Gary called Judd on his lie about the location of the Immunity Idol.
Jeez, I hate Judd. And Stephenie. I want them both gone. I’d be fine with anyone else winning, but I’d prefer Rafe or Cindy.

Did it begin when Gary voted for Cindy as his throw away vote (when BJ was ousted) or did it stem from something earlier?
