Okay, Bessy is gone. What a cute kid! I know a lot of people were pulling for her to win due to her mother’s medical bills. In our viewing group, I’m the only one who hopes that Cobly will win - I just want to keep looking at those blinding white teeth! and I think he has had the right concept from the beginning - win the game, play the strategy. Had to watch tonight’s episode like last week’s -with a box of Kleenex at my side. When I realized it was Colby’s mother serving him his meal, I burst into tears. I think I even saw Jeff tear up a little. Was surprised that the “weigh-in” didn’t register more of a lose of pounds for the remaining 4. Did I understand Bessy say she had lost only 14 pounds? She looks like she lost more. ---

Colby and his mom gave me the creeps! He referred to it as a ‘conjugal visit’ um… isnt that when the prisoner gets to have sex?? They are WAY WAY too close for comfort. When Elisabeth cried hugging her I almost lost it. She is the world’s nicest person… well, next to Roger (who looked MUCH better!) I am SO sick of seeing Colby win everything. Why do they even try? ---

I like Elisabeth. I was sad to see her go. I think she’s basically a nice person, but her final speech was a little too sore loser for me. She was right! She could’ve won in a Final 2 situation, but it’s not exactly the right image you want to project in your final moments. ---

If there is a god, Colby will lose. If he hadn’t won the last umpteen immunity challenges in a row, he’d already be history. Plus, pop culture already has Matther McConaughey, and Colby’s a total ripoff. I mean, c’mon, can’t you just see Survivor boy with a Bud Lite in his hand, speaking the immortal words from _Dazed and Confused_? “That’s what I love about high school girls. I keep gettin’ older, but they stay the same age.” Blech. ---

I’m sick of seeing Colby winning too. But it was sweet seeing him tear up when he realized that his mom was the one serving the food. I can only imagine that the producers had everyone’s family ready to go and flew the winner’s family in at the last minute. Keith cried too. I figure they lost from 10-17 % of their starting body weight. I’m not sure if I got all the starting weights right so I may be off a bit, but at any rate I’d say they are definitely malnourished. ---

Sorry Dignan, but tonight’s episode brought the total banality of Matthew McConaughey/Colby Donaldson to a head. I suppose it doesn’t help that Colby might as well be half the people I grew up with down here in Texas. If I were McConaughey, I’d start locking up movie roles now, ‘cause Colby’s coming after your bongo-playin’ butt. ---

Oops, hope I didn’t step on Fiver’s toes by posting this before he had the chance! Also, did anyone else notice that those cicada (locust) were whirring so loudly throughout the show that you could hardly hear the dialogue? I kept bumping the TV volume up, thinking it was me, and then they showed the ciacadas, and I was relieved that I wasn’t losing my hearing. Yeah, my husband and I wondered how they got Colby’s mother there so quickly, but since it was Day 39, and they only have 42 days, I’m thinking the families must all have flown in for the final show. ---

OK, I 've been refraining from reading this thread before I saw the show (which I did a little while ago). Damn!:mad: I LIKED Elisabeth (BTW: yuuuummm!!)! Why did all 3 of the others vote for her? There must have been something going on that they didn’t show us… seems to me that Colby, Tina and Keith must have all agreed to vote Elisabeth out beforehand. I was so sure that Keith was gonna get the boot… Well, now I think it’s pretty likely that Colby will win. Kudos to you, **nene227** , for correctly identifying the insect in question as cicadas! Most people think they are locusts, which are a different type of insect altogether! (my Dad is a doctor of entomology…so I picked up useless knowledge like this as a kid…) ---

I think Keith also knew he stands a better chance of winning against Tina over Bessy, although the chance is only maringally better. ---

I have to agree with **Johnny L.A.** on most of what he said. I think that Colby is winning the reward and immunity challenges because that’s why he’s there… to win. Elisabeth really wanted that last reward challenge and she worked her butt of but she just wasn’t able to pull it off. That’s just the way it goes. As for who’s going to win… it’s between Colby and Tina. If Colby wins immunity next week he’d be better off voting Tina off instead of Keith and vice versa for Tina… she should vote Colby off if she wins immunity. I would like to see Colby or Tina win simply because I like them better than I like Keith. I think Keith is a big phony… that whole thing with asking his girlfriend to marry him, gimme a break. :rolleyes: What a show. Just like last night when he got pictures of his kids… it just seemed like the emotion wasn’t genuine. ---

On what do you base this claim? In the show I’ve been watching, I’ve seen a Colby who is kind and genuine, if a little slow on the uptake, and he seems to have an almost perplexing NON-interest in sex. He could have had Jerri, and did not. She practically threw herself at him, and she wasn’t unattractive physically, but he spurned her advances. And we never hear him talking about good lovin’ as one of the things he misses about back home. Nobody wants to be against her in the final two, since she’d probably win cause everyone on the jury would like her. They figure she might win immunity next week so it’s time to go. Colby hates Keith and wants to be in the final 2 against him, cause he thinks the jury will pick him over Keith. Not sure on what Keith’s plan is, my guess is that him and Tina are going to want to get rid of Colby if he doesn’t win immunity. My money’s on Colby to win it. ---

I was also sad to see Elisabeth go. Just because I think Keith doesn’t deserve to be in the final 3. But I can’t say that I would have voted differently if I were Colby. I think this is the same decision he had last week. Keep someone that he’s pretty sure he can win against? Or keep someone that is much more likable? And I think Colby is a lot smarter than he comes across sometimes. He won the immmunity challenge, and that was all mental. Being the fastest or the strongest didn’t matter there. While it’s true that having eaten more and better, he’s probably a bit quicker mentally than the others, last night I really noticed his vocabulary. He’s very well spoken, if you listen past the accent. Anyway, in this round of the game, I can seriously say that he really does deserve to win. He’s played the game very well. ---
