You said it. I missed last week’s episode completely, what with the schedule shuffling going on with the tournament, but I was excited watching the recap to see that it was indeed down to two against eight.
I was cooking dinner while watching, and I swear I actually laughed out loud no fewer than five times during the episode. I was cheering loudly for Stephanie to get her fire built at the end, just because watching her alone at night wandering around the woods (as per the previews) looks riveting.
The sheer inevitability of the Ulong losses has been astounding. The moment Tom said he was doing the tiebreaker at RC, that was a foregone conclusion. But Ulong had a decent lead going in the IC, and just when they were furthest ahead, I though to myself “How are they going to fuck this one up?” Answer: They suck at puzzles. Bwahhahahahahaha!!!
So who was in that final four alliance? Stephanie, Tom, Ian?, and ???
I’d like to see Tom vs Stephanie in the final two, if nly because he’s the man and she looks mighty purty hanging around in her little jeans and bra.

They were 20-day-old duck (or some sort of bird?) embyros.
Jeff called them fertilized eggs.

Balut are no big deal to eat, although they go better with a cold San Miguel. They’re bar snacks in the Philippines, and I’ve tried 'em. Crunchy, but not _gross_.

Yeah, but “gross food challenge” is the catch-all term for out-culture stuff like that on reality shows. While I personally would probably give most of what they offer them in these challenges a pass, I’m usually rolling my eyes at the extreme reactions. People eat these things EVERY DAY in some culture or other. It’s not like they’re forcing them to drink sulfuric acid or something.

**NoClueBoy** , I kinda agree with you. But for me, it has nothing to do with Tom as a person. I just don’t like when someone wins all the time and does it so effortlessly.
This season is boring and heartbreaking, IMHO. I don’t like watching people trying their best and failing. I was rooting for Bobby John these last couple of weeks. My heart went out for him when he screwed up the water puzzle thing. I almost cried when he couldn’t get those ducks down. And I had to turn the channel when he lost at the fire thing. He just gets this really sad, Bobby Brady-like face. I can almost hear him saying, “I’m so stupid, I’m so stupid, I’m so stupid!”
And it doesn’t help when Jeff Probst makes those snide comments all the time. Tom and his super team are cackling and smiling, while poor Bobby John struggles on. I wish he could get a second chance.
Stephanie’s okay. She really does rock in all of the challenges. But as a person, I don’t feel much kinship with her, like I do Bobby John. She strikes me as someone who would have bullied or teased the less athletic, less physically competitive girls in high school. I’m judging this solely based on her evil clown eyebrows.
When Jeff sent Steph back to camp, I said to my cats: “I can’t believe they’re gonna make that child go back to the jungle all by herself”. And then I remembered she wasn’t really by herself, but with at least one cameraperson. Still, it sucks for her to have to do everything on her own. I can’t see them letting it go on for long.

I immediately thought, “How in the hell is she gonna make it back to camp all by herself?” After the scene of her and BJ struggling with the outrigger, I thought there was no way she could paddle that thing all the way back to camp alone.
Apparently from the previews she did. _GO STEPH!!!_
I also had the feeling that the last Ulong standing would immediately be melded into Koror, but apparently I was wrong (just call me ‘Ulong’).
It would be awesome if it was ‘Steph vs. Koror’ from here on out, but as much as I admire Steph, I don’t think it could last very long. But if she did, she would definitely be the Ultimate Survivor Of All Time.
I’m sensing another Celebrity Death Match in the making.

He also took one of the paddles with him when he left! He had it over his shoulder when Jeff snuffed his torch.
So, not only does she have to lug that boat into the water, but she has to paddle it back, in the dark, no less, with _only one paddle?_

I don’t see how she’d even _use_ two paddles, actually. There are no oarlocks on that canoe, and the paddles aren’t long enough to use as oars, anyway.

It wasn’t really that he couldn’t get them down. His problem was that he shoved them all in his mouth at once and then tried to chew - and couldn’t. Tom put them in one at a time and quickly chewed and swallowed.
Shoving them all in at once was stupid. There was no way he could chew with five of the things in his mouth.
I agree with you; I feel sorry for him, but some of it is his own doing. He just doesn’t think things through.

Unless they show it next week, I’m going to assume she got help, if not a motor boat ride back.
