How is being the odd man out and thus not even getting a chance to even compete (as in prior shows) not an auto-lose? How is being the odd player a choice? 😕

And Jeff specifcally named the players who had the choice. Dan was not amoung the names Jeff mentioned.

If they change the rules to “quitters don’t get to be on the jury”, then quitting will change from making a big “I quit” announcement to a big “I want to leave the game, so if you don’t all vote for me tonight, I’ll piss in the rice jar and set the shelter on fire” announcement. Certainly in the past people have volunteered to be voted out, with no repercussions against them.

What, pray tell , did you not understand about my last post? It’s not an auto-lose by virtue of the fact that he won! In this case, I believe he should have tried to submit himself as the one who sacrificed himself for the tribe.

I \*just \*addressed this.

Here’s my post that you replied to _“But that’s not fair- he did not choose to not play, there was just a odd number of players- why should a player auto lose a reward just because they are at a odd number?”_

Your reply "_And he doesn’t have to “auto-lose,” it’s obviously his choice. I just think he chose the wrong one–assuming he indeed have the option (he should have stepped forward regardless, unless Jeff specifically said he couldn’t, as opposed to it being an oversight."_
I assumed you were talking about the fact that on th eold rules, the odd player “auto-loses” simply by being the odd man out. Thta’s not fair. Thus the fact that Dan won by sitting out is fair, as it wasn’t his choice to sit out, and the only other choices are auto-lose or autowin. What do _you_ think should be done with the odd man out in a reward challenge?

So to avoid confusion, let us keep the reply _here_ only to what happens if a player is the odd man out.

I did like Jeff’s implication that Purple Kelly was likely from a well-off family and has had everything simply given to her at this point in life.

Naonka is simply pure distilled id as a previous poster said. I’m morbidly curious to see her friends/family present at the reunion show and how they react or comment.

Yes, you said _“unless Jeff specifically said he couldn’t, as opposed to it being an oversight”_ and I replied that Jeff specifically named those who had the choice.

I think the new rule change is more fair.

Right, and I wouldn’t say that constitutes “specifically stating he couldn’t.” Instead, it seems like it could be an oversight.

Ah, but that’s honorable IMHO, it’s throwing themselves on the grenade for the good of their alliance/team. Perfectly OK by me.

Since there was nine people, the challenge should have been Three on Three on Three.

The dummies may have been too heavy for a team that did not have one of Chase/Benry/Fabio.

Whatever happened to individual reward? Have one person win and get to bring 2 or 3 people along. These last few seasons they’ve been doing a lot more of these team rewards and only doing individual rewards for the last couple. I miss as all the strategy and anxiety that happens when one person of an alliance gets left out.

He seemed like a total loser at first (my first episode was the “chess grandmaster” one), but he seems to have really evolved as a player. His comments at TC last night were really pretty good.

Yes, this is one of the things I came here to say. Plus, he’s proof that our ancestors did interbreed with Neanderthals. 🙂

Sheesh, the quitters. Whine, whine, whine. I don’t want them on the jury. I don’t ever want to see them again. I agree that they should pull the last two people voted off and put them back in the game, then send the fucking quitters home.

True, but with that stupid line, maybe we now know why the cameras gave her so little time. Useless airhead doing nothing and saying nothing important.

Well that and because she quit. I have no doubt that her meager edit was punishment for that. Probably would have done the same for Naonka, except showing more of her was probably more of a punishment considering they apparently only showed the parts where she was an ass.

Let’s not forget Kelly’s immortal “we got to milk the milk”.

We can’t know this without a complete list of who was cast and who auditioned.

Yep. And just to throw it out there, the winter seasons do a clip show the week March Madness starts.

No, not really, Survivor Africa was the pits. This one is hardly amoung the greats, however.

Purple Kelly is a nursing student. If she finds this hard I have to wonder how she’ll get through her clinicals and 12 hour nursing shifts.

Naonka knew she wasn’t going to win so this was clearly a face saving move on her part. Not that she has any face left anywhere other than in her own mind. I can’t imagine anyone hiring her to be a teacher ever again.

Just listened to some interviews (alone in the car so I could curse freely) and Nay says her mom was disappointed but “understood”. Understood that her kid is a weak ego-monster, presumably.

Purple Kelly is able to drink and vote, etc., but is still obviously Mommy and Daddy’s precious widdle Princess Snowflake. She said her folks watched with her last night and cried for her skininess and hugged her and told her they were proud of her for doing what she wanted, ie quitting. Gag. She also used the word like, like, every other like word.

Oh yeah, one last thing, she didn’t understand why they didn’t show more of her.😃
