> So like most people (Survivor was actually FOURTH in the ratings last night  ) I was watching/DVRing the figure skating finals and American Idol last night. Is it worth forking over two bucks to [CBS.com](http://CBS.com) to download this episode?

I don’t think so. I was pretty disappointed with it. The “close finish” wasn’t all that close. I was expecting slow motion instant replay.

So I have to admit I’m sad to know Terry’s got the idol. Not because I don’t want him to win, but that I think it’s all the better not knowing who has it and finding out at the council, or when they reveal it to others.

When he smashed the bottle I began wondering if some crew member was going to collect the glass shards and remove the evidence of the idol being found. I’m assuming they’ll keep giving false clues to those who get sent to the island.

Alright, and is it just me or does Bobby have something funky with his eye? I couldn’t tell if it was a lazy eye or what but something looked weird.

I was somwewaht surprised as well. I think this tells us something about how Terry will use the idol.

I think they wanted us to know that he had it so it would make something more interesting in later episodes.

As Austin pointed out, their team would have finished sooner if he had poured faster. However, they would have finished a _lot_ sooner if Nick hadn’t been so slow hauling the water up… they showed him going carefully hand-over-hand, and the bucket wasn’t that full that he had to worry about spilling it. I agree that he’s playing well under the radar if he can do that and not get called on it.

Bobby may be kind of a jerk, but I really hope they don’t kick him off the island for taking a dump in the portapotty. That’s kind of what it’s for, you know? And, having dumped, the porta can still be used as a wood storage area. The part under the seat would have had some sanitizing blue gunk in it to break down the load anyway, so they couldn’t have used that space for anything _but_ poop.

I really hope that Terry (a) buried the broken box and bottle off in the jungle, (b) filled the original hole back up to the top, and © put the stone back in the ground under the “Y” tree about 10’ away from where he found it…

Bobby may be a lazy sod, but I can’t believe he is being criticized for taking a dump in the outhouse. That is what outhouses are for, no?

I don’t exactly remember the clues to the hidden idol, but did Misty really have a hope in hell of finding it based on her clue?

It isn’t so much for dropping a deuce (I love that expression), but for doing it when the tribe was debating what to do with it. Just because something is intended for one use doesn’t mean it isn’t more useful for something else. Bobby wouldn’t entertain any debate and settled the matter in a somewhat disrespectful manner.

> I don’t exactly remember the clues to the hidden idol, but did Misty really have a hope in hell of finding it based on her clue?

No doubt. Her clue, which was the “why” was oral. So she couldn’t have known it was a homonym play.

Not really. Since ‘why’ had quotation marks around it, that indicated a ‘y’. Could be a tree, could be a fork in a trail. But given the way in which the idol was hidden, the chance of her finding it was exceedingly small.

I’d forgotten about that. Didn’t she pick up on the way Jeff said it? Or was she concentrating on ‘fate’?

I was hoping Terry would carve a new idol, place it in the box, and bury it under the tree. Then carve a bunch of idols and bury them under rocks under every other “why” shaped tree. So whoever went to Exile Island would be sure to find something.

It’d be great a tribal council. The voted off person would pull out some crudely carved stick and Jeff would be like “What the heck is that?”

I don’t think she did. I doubt I would. Jeff did emphasize “why”, but the way he sounded made me think it was a philosophical question.

Plus, you have to think Mistie was taken off guard. It was the first day of the game and she had been dumped on the island by herself.

Kind of saps your concentration.

No, that was me. She concentrated on “behind” which was never even said. I hate — HATE HATE HATE — that “why” clue. It’s not even a homonym, at least not in my neck of the woods. We pronounce the h.

Misty picked up on “behind”, so she spent all her time looking around behind where they were standing when he said that. Which may have been the correct half of the island, but he didn’t say, “behind and buried about a foot deep…”

**Filmore,** you are a genius. That would be _hilarious_…

When the merge happens, if it’s 5-4 in favor of either team, the team with the majority needs to be careful when Pagonging. They can’t afford to target anyone who has been to Exile Island or they risk swapping the majority. I hope they realize that. Once they have a majority of 2, then they can target Terry/Bruce/whoever else goes.

And Filmore, that’s brilliant. I love it.

</div>

Assuming things go the way they have the past seasons, the merge happens at 10 people. That’s 7-3, 6-4, 5-5, 4-6, or 3-7. I can’t imagine La Mina losing the next 2 Immunity challenges, so I guess it’ll be either 5-5 or 6-4 Casaya.
If it’s even, I can imagine the Casaya “alliance” breaking pretty damn quickly. If they have numbers (6-4) and they go through the whole showing the immunity idol to save Terry, it’ll still be 5-4 in favor of Casaya, so they will still have numbers. But maybe the immunity idol thing will knock off the ring-leader. (maybe Shane at the time?!)
I think Austin/Nick giving away the immunity challenge last night pretty much screwed Terry’s ‘easy road’ to the million. (And hopefully making for a better show)

But this is all assuming there isn’t a mixup coming…

I wondered about this as well. Had I been in Terry’s shoes, I would have repacked the hole and removed all evidence of finding the idol. Of course this would be a waste of time if the people running the show refuse to provide any more clues.

I can see it now…Bruce gets back to exile island and unrolls the clue. On the parchment is a crude drawing of a stick figure with word “Terry” written above it and an arrow pointing to his back pocket.

I thought the same thing - refill the hole as best you could, so no one knows where you’ve been looking.

And the ironic part is that Bruce is the only Casaya who’d be able to figure out the clue.

Agreed, BIG TIME. IMHO she is the most attractive Survivor in the show’s history, not counting Amber, of course, who was voted sexiest all time.

Great smile, great lips. Mmm, lips.
