Unfortunately for me, life interfered with my reality TV schedule and I kind of … fell off the grid this season (that’ll teach me to become a mom during sweeps month), but did I hear correctly? Next season will be in high definition? Because I will TOTALLY start looking into a nanny and/or earlier bedtime for the baby if that is the case. ---

Lotsa HD animals to see, even surfing hippos (yes, really). ---

I don’t have exact vote tallies for all Final 3’s in front of me, but I doubt if any third place contestant has received more than 1 vote. They were always totally irrelevant. ---

Terrible ending. I think if any season needed a final three, this would have been it. There were guaranteed votes for at least Amanda and Parvati, but I think Cirie would have Perry Masoned them both in the jury vote. ---

According to [Scientific American](http://www.sciam.com/article.cfm?id=survivor-sharpens-up-with), it’s been hard to do because of special considerations for Survivor, like the number of cameras they use and the crap they’re exposed to: For a while, HD cameras were still considered more clunky and less reliable than their standard-definition counterparts – not a good fit for being dragged around a rainy tropical beach, shooting physical competitions where capturing every second counts. Additionally, the cost of upgrading an elaborate on-location production like “Survivor” to HD is higher than a studio-based series like “Idol” or “Dancing.” All told, “Survivor” uses about 20 cameras, with some for shooting underwater and from helicopters. During the past couple years, HD camera reliability has improved greatly, and the cost has become more comparable to standard-definition equipment. ---

I enjoyed the finale. I didn’t like Parvati at the start of the season but I could appreciate her win because she did play a good game. I don’t think Amanda’s jury performance was that bad…I think she definitely screwed up Cirie’s question but other than that it was loads better than her performance in China. I thought there was the possibility of a Parvati-Natalie sex tape after Nat’s question, but I don’t think Parvati needs the money now. James has to be one of my favorite Survivors ever. He’s such a nice guy and he comes up with so many great one-liners without ever coming across as nasty or mean. I think the reunion show was one of the better reunions. It was entertaining and I liked the (not-so) subtle digs that Ozzy and Chet both gave to Jeff. 😃 ---

[/QUOTE] Of course, Deadliest Catch has been using HD cameras for the past 3 seasons in conditions far worse than you see on Survivor, and they’re all junk by the time they’re done. I just think Burnett is cheap - notice that the jury members have to live in tents after they’re voted out. ---

Speaking of The Amazing Race (in a total but hopefully short hijack), I just saw Sarah (the woman with the prosthetic leg and the total asshole boyfriend/mechanic) on a commercial, though for what, I don’t remember.
