I would have gotten rid of Tai. He’s a crazy, unpredictable variable.

As for the goats, give me a break. Have those guys never eaten lamb? Eat the baby, and then eat the mama. Goat = food.

All the goat slaughter discussion assumed that at least one of the 6 tribe members knew how to kill, dress and butcher a goat using nothing but a dull machete. They may have just decided that fishing was easier.

JT knows how to slaughter an animal.

They have all the fish they need and 4 chickens. There’s no reason to slaughter that insanely cute baby goat. Besides, these guys aren’t first timers. They know perfectly well how nannycide would go down with the fans back home.

Also, goat isn’t lamb. There’s a reason you don’t see much goat at your local supermarket.

Yeah, he was a rancher if I recall. Glad to see Caleb go, I didn’t feel like he added much to the game. I wonder if Sandra is overplaying her hand?

She’s not in the goat-owning tribe, but Andrea could also dress and butcher an animal. She was our neighbor when she was younger and she raised cattle for 4H (we bought 1/4 of one of her 4H steers) and her family are farmers and hunters.

4 chickens = 2 meals.

That’s just cultural bias. Goat is widely eaten around the world.

Well, the cultural reasons stand since Im pretty sure all the contestants were raised in that same culture.

Even amongst hunters, killing a baby and it’s mom isn’t generally kosher. Certainly when it’s not even remotely an eat or die situation.

It’s _Survivor_. You eat shit you normally don’t eat. That’s part of the game. If your sensibilities are that you’ll eat lamb but not goat, you don’t belong on _Survivor_. All of them were happy to eat a goat, with the caveat that it was a grown, male goat. They didn’t want to be goat-bambi killers. It had nothing to do with “goat”.

Uh yeah, but we are talking about what actually happened which was they caught a baby goat and mom. Sure they might eat some other goat but as one said “you know the only reason we caught her was because she wouldn’t leave her baby”. Come on, man, grow a heart. TV would not be the better for a Survivor episode killing a baby goat.

Eh. Baby animals are killed by the hundreds every day for food. Americans are squeamish little cowards in that they want their “baby animal” food, but don’t want to see how that food reaches the market. We’re omnivores. We kill other animals for food. It has been that way for at hundreds of thousands of years.

This is one longtime fan that would have said adios had they killed the goats. If anyone thinks that’s being “sensitive as shit”, well then guess what? I’m sensitive as shit. I don’t watch Survivor to see animals killed. I absolutely know it’s a possibility. I just don’t need to actually see or hear about it. Mmmmkay?

Yeah well maybe we can save the slaughterhouse life lessons for a more serious show. Ymmv.

Too late. [It happened in Season 2.](http://abcnews.go.com/Entertainment/story?id=109136)

Of course, I would not expect them to show the goats being killed.

And you know they kill chickens, right? Not to mention loads of fish.

Ok John, we get it. You’ve held up a mirror and the hypocrisy we’re seeing is us. It’s been us all along. Survivor shouldn’t have punked out and should have held up that mirror to all of America. The cowardice of the current players failed us all.

Now, do you think Ozzy is going to out fox Cirie or not?

No refrigeration out there. Warm Goats Milk sounds revolting to me.

Anyway… how about that HII? I couldn’t tell by the camera angle, but I’m assuming the other two tribes had one in the same spot as well. I wonder if they will reappear at every challenge. I was hoping Troyzan would get spotted causing a mad dash by the other two teams.

In Dalton Ross’s interview with Jeff yesterday, Jeff stated that they ONLY place the HII in the challenge if someone from that tribe found a clue. Since Troyzan was the only one who found it, only his table had an idol. They don’t want it to turn into everyone spending the challenge looking for idols instead of doing the challenge.

He also confirmed that if JT found an idol in someone else’s bag, he couldn’t have taken it - you can’t transfer ownership of an idol by stealing it. Finding & stealing a clue would have been fair game though.

I’m sure JT knew that too. It would still have been nice to know if someone had one.
