In other words “I’m not a doctor, but I can make instant diagnoses from what editors choose to show me on TV.” When the injury occurred, he couldn’t even walk. He’s now wearing a huge brace, and essentially sat out a challenge where his strength would have been an advantage, because he can’t walk. Keeping him in the game because you hope he’ll get better is nuts.

The guy couldn’t even stand, let alone walk. And you’re saying he’s more an asset than Tom in physicality? I call bullshit on that statement. You can’t hope someone is going to get better in Survivor. For all we know the injury will get worse without the proper diagnosis with MRI and the following proper remedy.

</div>

Exactly. It’s possible that he might have a quick turnaround with the proper attention and physical therapy–but what are the odds that James is going to do that on his own? Zero. If anything, he may lay back and rest and then ill-advisedly attempt to get physical (and perhaps even overdo it) just for a challenge. That’s not going to be of much help to the Heroes. Unless it’s exclusively a eat-something-yucky challenge (do they even do those anymore?), I think he’s going to prove a liability despite his most macho of assertions.

Oh, come on. If medical thought it was something serious they wouldn’t have left him in the game.

P.S. John Elway played 16 years in the NFL without an ACL in his left knee. These types of injuries cause swelling for a couple of days, then they are merely an annoyance. He’ll be able to run without a brace by the next immunity challenge. Watch.

I’m fine with Tom leaving only for the potential hilarity watching James torpedo the whole tribe in next week’s challenge. I will laugh my ass off.

With Tom gone, on the heroes tribe the only ones I’m still rooting for are JT because he’s playing hard (but that’ll probably get him voted out next week) and Amanda, solely because she’s purdy.

I can’t believe how invested I am in Boston Rob. In every season no matter what my #1 criteria is always to keep the hot chicks around. Why look at ugly / fat / old / male people when I could be looking at hot chicks? But I started thinking about what if they all vote Russell, Russell uses the idol and casts his vote for Rob? That would be awful. So Rob and them would have to split the votes, targeting Russell with most and someone else with the rest. Of course that someone else at this point would be Parvati, since she and Russell are seen as pair. But Parvati looks fine in a bikini, so that’s a no-go. I realized that if given the choice of voting out either Parvati or Boston Rob, I’d vote out Parvati. That’s an unprecedented vote from me.

Luckily the moment Jeff said the word “puzzle” when describing the challenge it became a guaranteed loss for the heroes, so no danger of losing either Parvati or Rob this week.

They hadn’t for a long time, but they did one last season. It sucked because (of course) the hot petite blonde failed miserably, getting her voted out that episode.

As highly unlikely as it would be, I would love to see J.T. vs. Rob in the finale. Two former winners (Rob may as well have won All-Stars) against each other. One’s a hero turned villain and the other’s a villain turned hero.

My bad. I thought that was the other challenge where the Heroes had the lead until the puzzle part.

There have been three puzzle challenges, all of which the heroes started with a huge lead and then gave up even trying by the time the villains beat them.

if there is an “eat the nasty thing challenge”, I might be royally turned off by producer manipulation. Unless Probst blogs an explanation of how the challenges are set and decided. That would be total bs if they let James rest with something like that.

Addition: Gotta remember with March Madness, Survivor schedule will be all messed up, next wednesday/thursday, nothing, 2weeks wednesday recap show I think, 3 weeks from now nothing, then back to regular thursdays.

Nah, the one that was “roll the huge ball with a guy in it through the jungle” then solve a puzzle was dominated by Rob’s leadership the whole way.

Not too sure, the big ball rolling part of it was done better by Rob, but Tom caught up with the ball maze, or that’s how the edit made it look like. Tom got the ball to rim out at the same time Rob got his team to bury it.

NCAA B-Ball disrupts two Thursdays, not three. The tournament is over 3 weekends, but the final four weekend is on Saturday and Monday.

Probst’s blog:

> Due to the NCAA college basketball tournament, SURVIVOR WILL NOT BE ON NEXT WEEK! I know, we hate it too.
> THE FOLLOWING WEEK
> Survivor will be on for a special Wednesday night episode: WEDNESDAY MARCH 24TH
> BACK TO NORMAL
> On April 1st we return to our regular Thursday night time slot.

“special wednesday night episode?” Does that mean the episode is special (clip show?) or is it special because it is on Wednesday night? It seems like it is too early for a clip show. They have had only 5 boots (Sugar, Steph, Randy, Cerie, Tom).

They’ll pull you from the game if they think you’ve got an injury that will threaten life or limb. If it’s something that won’t get worse if they keep an eye on it, they’ll leave you in and examine you periodically. Just because his injury won’t get worse doesn’t mean it’ll get better, and doesn’t mean it isn’t crippling him RIGHT NOW. I hope and pray they get the challenge I mentioned above, where having a team member who can’t walk is an immediate and unavoidable liability. The Heroes deserve it.

The preview made it sound like a new one - they didn’t use the code words “previously unaired scenes” that usually indicate a clip show.

At least with a Survivor clip show, there’s some new footage, some of which is cool. Hardly must see, but still worth watching if you’re a fan.

I wasn’t including that as a puzzle challenge because I don’t consider that a puzzle. No pieces to put together.

Last season’s clip show was remarkably well done - there was a lot of previously-unseen and revelatory clips that made it far more than an avarage clip show. The editors are to be commended, although it doesn’t forgive them for “the Russell Show” edit they crammed down our throat.

I have no info other than what Probst said, but the annual March Madness Wednesday show has always been a clips show, AFAIK.
