I also thought of an interesting tactic that Tom and Ian could have used. At the tribal council, Ian could have given the immunity to Caryn. Having planned ahead, Tom, Ian, and Caryn would have voted against Gregg. But there was a chance that Gregg, Jenn, and Katie wouldn’t have made a fallback plan and would have divided their votes between Ian and Tom. Gregg would have gone.

Even if that didn’t work they still wouldn’t have been any worse off - it would have been the 3-3 tie they were already anticipating. But from Tom and Ian’s standpoint ti would have been better. If one of them was the target and the tie didn’t break, that person would have been safe from the purple rock rather than Caryn.

Interesting. If they weren’t able to get Katie on board, I would have loved to see that. I don’t imagine there is any rule against talking strategy just before and/or during the voting, but no one has ever done it that I can remember.

Did anybody else see Tom try to say something to Ian when Ian was asked if he’d like to give up immunity? It almost looked like he was going to change tactics at the last minute and have Ian give it to Caryn so that Gregg, Jen & Katie would split their votes between Tom & Ian.

Tom appeared to be joking with Ian that maybe his Ian would give Tom the immunity necklace. It did not appear to be any actual attempt at a strategy move.

Nothing, besides the fact that you were clearly a child of the 1970s. I bet you learned to read with phonics and also experienced “new math” and metrics!

You may have also had a Mrs. Beasley doll, or possibly a hippity-hop. I, for one, always wanted the Sit N Spin but, alas, Santa blew it.

Oooops! My previous post was referring to this.

And yes, rockle, I imagined the same thing.

Actually, I’m pretty sure it would unanimously be Tom votes. They had discussed their “order” and it was Caryn, then Tom. If #1 is unavailable, go after #2.

Phonics, yes. “New” math and metrics, no. Thank goodness. The Mrs. Beasley doll is in the “antique cabinet.” I did have a Hippity Hop and a Sit N Spin. The bad news? I have never actually seen an episode of HR Puf N Stuf, because it was “before my time.” (But I’ve seen pictures – they’re the ones that look like the Banana Splits on acid, right?) Anyhow, I had multiple sets of Donnie & Marie dolls. The ones with the purple outfits were my favorites.

> Okay, **Ethilrist** , I’m going to give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you are not trying to come off as condescending as it seems when I read your posts. **Slacker** touches on this in his post, but the reason the PRoD was genius is that it discourages “unbreakable” ties just because the threat of it is still out there. One could argue that it worked so well the first time that MB has never had to use it again. At the time, we all complained about how unfair it was, but the unfairness is what makes the players afraid of it, which makes it harder for them to stick to their guns on a split vote. And I don’t think you can compare the one-on-one tiebreaker from this season as there was no voting involved. So, if you have special knowledge that the PRoD would not be used again, please share, because I haven’t seen anything this season to make me think MB would not use it (or something similarly unfair) again.
>
> Pash

I don’t think the PRoD would show up, though. I read an interview with Jeff Probst wherein he stated that he _hated_ the PRoD and the resultant boot of an innocent, so much so that he bitched about it to Burnett (with whom he has some influence) and flat out stated that the PRoD (and the equally-abhored “Outcast” tribe gimmick) would not happen again. I’m sure they have something in mind to resolve a tie, but the fear of the PRoD is so deeply ingrained in the players that they have never had an unbreakable tie since. These players didn’t get a chance to hear about that (I think it was in Entertainment Weekly sometime during this cycle), but it may come into play during the next season of Survivor.

I wonder if our Dolphin Dork was disapppointed to hear about the others’ experience of frolicking in the lagoon. Man, I would’ve loved to do that - those dolphins came over to play like big slippery black labs!

And how cute was he squattin’ down to tiny Probst could put the immunity necklace on him? Girls, is there room for one more in the Dorklove tribe?

It’s more than that. Jeffy is one of the producers of the show.

Warning! Cruel un-pc remark ahead!

Fortunately, there’s enough ass there for all of us!
[/cruel un-pc remark]

How lazy do you have to be to be on an island for almost a month and _not lose weight!?!?_ I’m pretty hefty, and that much time away from readily available carbs and convieniece foods would’ve made a difference in my body, like it has on every other body on the island.

Maybe that’s how she got her claws hooked into our Beloved Dolphin Boy: she comes back from the buffet every day with plenty of his favorite foods, Pixy Stix and Mountain Dew for him. Oh, _quelle coincidence_! Those are MY favorite foods, too! Must be kismet or something.

I have a sizeable ass, I will not deny it. I think at this point on Survivor, I would have that incredibly unattractive extra skin from losing weight too fast–but I _would_ lose weight. Does anybody with a TiVo still have any of the early episodes? Has Katie lost _any_ weight?

Yeah, me too. I’m 4’ 11½" and my husband is 6’ 2" and that’s already a problem. Good thing Ian has those “long monkey arms” or he’d never be able to reach me while I’m standing on the top step and he’s at the bottom.

Doesn’t look like it. Also, she actually still fits into her bathing suit, which she packed at least 30 days earlier, before she left. (It was laid out for her, as part of the reward she got to share with Gregg.) So either she was stupid, overly optimistic, or she’s just a hog.
