Actually, Burnett most definitely does know the final outcome. Nobody has ever denied that.

An article in, I believe, a Toronto paper identified Jon as indeed being the one who told The Big Lie.

You’ve already been referred to one that does general TV, but for reality TV specifically, I’d recommend [RealityNewsOnline](http://www.realitynewsonline.com). And of course I’m not just saying that 'cus I own the site and do all the _Survivor_ recaps. 😉 Oh, and I get them posted a lot quicker than TWoP does.

Wow. I sure didn’t see that, though I know we heard Nicole _claim_ it. Everybody else seemed to think that Nicole was nuts. Didn’t you see the look on Lill’s face when Nicole suggested they vote off Tijuana?

> [@](#):
>
> And not very bright, rounding up a posse to evict Nicole on the basis of what she perceived as a personal slight.

Um… It wasn’t a perception of a “personal slight.” Nicole was trying to round up an alliance to VOTE OFF Tijuana! Tijuana didn’t round up the posse – Lill told Andrew who told various others including Tijuana. Tijuana tried to talk to Nicole about it and Nicole just did a tapdance routine rather than give direct answers to simple questions.

>
> She is not going to make it through if she continues taking all these things so personal. And what is with these people saying, Oh, we couldn’t trust Nicole after that? Uh, Hello?, you can’t trust ANYONE on these reality shows. So foolish to vote out someone strong and smart on the basis of what someone like Tijuana says.

Um, it had nothing to do with what Tijuana said. It was all based on what Lill said and the way Nicole reacted when confronted with the information. Hell, even Nicole admitted that it was her own fault!

Uhm, if we’re in a SURVIVAL game with a PIRATE theme and the OBJECT is to OUTWIT, OUTLAST and OUTPLAY, to win a MILLION DOLLARS(!), then HELL YES, by all means, if I’m STUPID enough to leave my stuff out where you can steal it and use it for barter, then I’d expect you to take it! What do you think this game is ABOUT?

Osten has to be the biggest idiot in the world. He screwed his tribe by making everybody panic at the market, and did the same thing at the beach, running up and down looking for a campsite. Put it at probably the worst possible place.

Selling his clothes?

There’s no way those shorts ar gonna make it 39 days. Neither is he.

The Spanish girl seems to do a good job of being helpful, not offending anybody and staying out of harm’s way.

Rupert of course, is gonna be everybody’s fave.

Easily my favorite Survivor premiere. Lots of hotties, villians and fan favorites already established.

Osten is an idiot, and vain to boot. The naked thing was just to show off because there were many ways he could’ve kept his boxers up.

Rupert owned from the moment he stole the shoes! That and the fishing and dress wearing already assure he’ll be one of those Survivor favorites whose fifteen minutes of fame become longer after the show is over. He’s a great character.

A co-worker told me that a morning radio show said Ryan Shoulders (the produce clerk kid from Morgan) is a crystal meth fiend. Kinda funny considering his anti-alcohol quote on CBS’s Survivor site.

Am I the only one who thinks Nicole should’ve given everyone massages? When you have eight people overworked, underfed and stripped of all their creature comforts, a massage therapist on the tribe would’ve been a blessing. She could’ve made her tribe think she was indispensable from day one, but she blew it.

Pick to win it all: too early to tell. Rupert is too obvious a choice. He’ll get to the jury and maybe the final five, but he’s too much of an obvious threat to be allowed to hang around until the end.

Sorry **Libertarian** , I was thinking the same thing. Outside information = spoiler box IMHO.

However, I know after the other Survivor threads here at SDMB it doesn’t always work that way. There is always going to be a chance for spoilers you don’t want to see, and if you can’t accept that then stay out of the threads. Sad but true.

I enjoy reading everyone’s thoughts almost as much as the show itself, so it’s worth the risk for me.

Then he should be aware of the spoiler tags and how to use them.

Nicole got booted because she got caught lying right off the bat. Whatever anyone else thinks about Lill, there’s a presumption of honesty towards her, I think, because of her whole scout image – I mean, any woman who wears her scout uniform to a photo shoot has GOT to be loyal, thrifty, brave, reverent, etc., etc., etc., right? Sometimes our childhood messages seem to stick around long enough to overwhelm common sense. So when it was a choice between who’s telling the truth, Nicole or Lill, it wasn’t a difficult choice for the rest of Team Moron.

And hello! If six people are telling you, “Let’s vote off X,” why buck the trend? Especially at the beginning, when it’s pretty much a crapshoot who’s going to get voted off anyway because nobody’s really had long enough to make that big an impact on anyone else?

Your friend came close. Ryan S apparently was a fan of LSD. It’s Christa who was the meth user.

Spoiler not related to game play, but don’t read it if you don’t want to know Smoking Gun-type dirt on a couple contestants:
Actually, it’s Christa who apparently had a thing going with meth and coke. The details are on the Smoking Gun, but they dug up some old posts from Christa on a drug-related Yahoo board, in which she’s pretty enthusiastic about both drugs.

Ryan S. also got tagged for some old drug posts, but his were about taking LSD with his friends.
Agreed. He’s made it too easy the last couple of seasons. Actually, that’s another reason I wish they’d try a real-time production, as with Big Brother (which I don’t watch, but understand that’s the case).

As to Tijuana, if you saw her and Nicole talk with each other about who said what to whom re: kicking Tijuana out, it seemed to me that Tijuana was hysterically shouting down Nicole - NO, THIS IS THE WAY IT IS! UH-UH! LISTEN! WAIT! THAT IS NOT WHAT I SAID! DID YOU [blah, blah, blah]…

Very bossy, and it would rub me the wrong way as immediately as it did Nicole, especially in view of Tijuana’s boorish behavior at the village.

I imagine the rest of the team acquiesced in voting out Nicole simply because Tijuana’s overbearing manner was something they did not feel like challenging yet. Wait until they get hungry and tired. 😃

I noted that Scout Troop Leader Lill does seem to be the oldest. I hope this isn’t a ratings ploy, the producers aiming for younger, nubile or virile types in hopes of gratuitous nudity – which, surprise, happened very unexpectedly right away. Not that I’m complaining, that is, until Hagrid ends up naked. Ewww…

I’m also in agreement about how Morgan seem like doofuses and Drake seem completely smart and put together. Which again makes me wonder if there was some serious intention behind the tribe groupings.

Hagrid scares me! And he’s a counselor for troubled youth? Troubled youth pirates?

Darrah – she’s a mortician! How interesting. Will her interpersonal skills be better or worse than Scout Troop Leader Lill? Maybe she will be the quiet unassuming one who comes out from behind and makes it to the final 3. Sort of hard to tell though until we see more of her.

And no players of Asian origin this season. I guess last season’s “balance beam incident” was enough dishonor to last two seasons.

Actually, it was first reported several days ago, just to be nitpicky. 😃 But I’m not convinced this one is legit. It seems to be more based on rumors than the previous one, at least that’s my read on it. I won’t say more about it here 'cus I’ll run astray of the spoiler stuff, but if you want more on my thoughts, I posted [an article of my evaluation of the recent revelations](http://www.realitynewsonline.com/cgi-bin/ae.pl?mode=1&article=article3630.art&page=1) earlier today.

Gosh, do you think that’s because Nicole was tapdancing all over the place and trying to figure out a way to lie herself out of the situation? YES. There was nothing “hysterical” about Tijuana. She confronted Nicole and gave her the chance to own up to what she had done or explain it. Nicole did neither.

You seem to be missing the major point here that Nicole had **already** tried to get Tijuana voted out at this point.

I’m sorry, but after this message and the one prior, I have to wonder if you were giving the episode your full attention. It’s going to air again Sunday, I believe. Perhaps you should rewatch it.

> [@](#):
>
> I imagine the rest of the team acquiesced in voting out Nicole simply because Tijuana’s overbearing manner was something they did not feel like challenging yet. Wait until they get hungry and tired.

You can “imagine” anything you like. The rest of us will watch the show. And those of us who did watch saw that it wasn’t Tijuana’s idea! Let’s try this again. The order of events were as follows:

Andrew approaches the women (except Lill) about getting rid of Ryan S., or maybe Lill instead. Nicole then approaches Lill about getting together to vote out Tijuana. Lill is absolutely mystified about this suggestion and relates the conversation to Andrew. Andrew tells Tijuana (and possibly others). Tijuana confronts Nicole and asks what’s going on. Nicole tries to avoid the conversation and is called on it by Tijuana. Others in the tribe see that Nicole cannot be trusted. They decide to vote out Nicole.

That’s what happened, in the order it happened. As I said before, Nicole even admitted that it was her own fault!!
