This season is really, really, good. The dynamics on the losing tribe are going to be really interesting to see. They now have three alliances - the two older guys without loved ones left are going to bond and it becomes a free for all. The smart people are the ones who will start working the social game. The other tribe is going to have to strike a hard bargain with Probst. Looking forward to next week. ---

There’s a reason for that. And you’re starting the cycle all over again in your new camp. I mean, I know that’s HER camp as much as the old Coyopa or whichever now, but doesn’t prudence and basic decency dictate that you try to keep hold of your wastrel compulsions for at least a day or two before you start to impoverish your NEW tribe, too? Not to mention how her old tribe screwed over whichever group of people got their old camp with the rice thing. Good lord…I’d be working on voting out whoever was left from that tribe just for being unthinking dunces. ---

Just saw the episode. That Monkey sure had some low hangers! Don’t really like Dale that much, but sure don’t like Missy. Wish Dale had the information that the Blue Tribe is running out rice. Because of the portions that Missy was probably doling out. It should be remembered that the Blue tribe has had more people at their camp than the Orange tribe. I don’t care much for tribe swaps because the new members of the blue tribe (Josh, Alec, Wes) had not been eating double portions of rice. And Wes is the one that won the fishing equipment, which he no longer has access. Wonder what Probst wants in exchange for Rice in the next episode. On the spot Tribal Council? Handicap them in the next couple challenges? ---

Is the tribe with no rice the same tribe that won the comfort items? Jeff has traded food for the tarp in the past. ---

The no-rice tribe won fishing gear, but never got to bring it back to camp because they traded it for another flint. ---

Yeah, they won the fishing gear, and then traded it. Then Wes won fishing gear for his tribe (the rice hoarders). Then the next reward was comfort items vs. sausages, and the winners took comfort (including a tarp). I thought I remembered Jon (frowny-eyebrows guy) looking sad about the sausages - wasn’t he from the no-rice tribe, at the time? I don’t remember who won, but I thought Wes’s tribe only won that one time. ---

I’ve always considered this to be a stupid strategy pre-merge anyway. They should want to keep the tribe as strong as possible for challenges. ---

Pretty boring episode tonight. I thought after the first couple of weeks that this could be a great season, but not so much anymore. There’s nobody who is really playing the game well, and it seems to be evolving into a strictly alliance-based game. The best seasons are the ones where you have a couple of dominant players, or ones who excel at one part of the game, be it social or athletic or intellectual. Is there any player who is excelling at even one part of the game? Can you even name a favorite at this point? The black firefighter seems to be very athletic and seems very aware of tribe dynamics, but seems to fail when he’s put in an important position, as he did tonight. He should have spoken up about the rice trade instead of saving it for the confessional. Having a Cerie or a Parvati or a Ozzy would really shake things up. Give me players like that over this milquetoast bunch anytime. ---

It really should have been “Tribal Council, right here, right now.” I did like the shot of Jeff slowly dragging away the hammock full of loot. It would have been really interesting if he had given it all to the other tribe. ---

I was watching for the handoff as Dale left the council set, since I thought he had said he would give Jon the idol “no matter what” as he was leaving. I didn’t see that, so the producers must have intentionally left it out, or it just didn’t happen. Even though I picked Jeremy at the beginning to go all the way, I’m losing faith in his abilities to do so. Odd as it may seem I’m switching my hopes to Keith or Nadiya!
