At least there will be a hot woman in a bikini at Ponderosa. Last year was a complete sausage fest until the very end. I wonder how much hooking up goes on at Ponderosa?

Didn’t the host end up dating a former contestant?

Jeff dated Julie Berry for three years.

They don’t show it in most of the videos but there is a fairly large staff at Ponderosa, including, particularly for the first juror (longer if the first couple are from opposing alliances) a companion type therapisty person. I don’t know what qualifications they have but their primary function is to keep the contestants from going nuts.

Not being a regular watcher of this show, I was totally unfamiliar with this. So the Ponderosa is a resort type place where people who have been on long enough to make the jury get to stay until the taping is over? Where to the earlier losers go? I thought that everyone was sequestered until it the taping was over to prevent the public from knowing who got voted off.

I’ve wondered that, too… you’d think if somebody left to go be on Survivor, and they came back a week later, most people would figure out they didn’t do too well.

There was also the season where they had the tribe of Castaways, who were the first six people voted off. They got set up in their own camp, just like the other survivors, and came back for a three-way challenge to see if they could get any of their people back into the game.

The losers who are out before the jury go on a vacation with members of the production staff to babysit and keep them out of sight. They are still basically sequestered, they’re not allowed to contact their families and friends but they’re kept separately from the jury members in order to ensure that they can’t influence the votes.

A couple of interesting Nature shots in tonights show.

The Sloth when they were returning from tribal at the beginning of the show. I thought sloths stayed in trees.

And the shot of the waves breaking when they returned from the Immunity Challenge. The sun was behind the wave, and you could see a silhouette of a fish at the top of the breaking wave.

Got to laugh at Tyler and Rodney saying they have no idea whats going on. Gee, you think?

For Will’s sake, I hope there aren’t any more swimming challenges. If he wasn’t naturally buoyant he might have drowned. I wonder why more people didn’t jump off the first obstacle like Mike did.

Chocolate only reward? I would have wanted some protein and not just sugar. I guess they take whatever they can get.

Jenn’s jiggling boobs was a nice bonus.

Joe will be back for the next all star season.

The Snickers had peanuts, there was some protein there. Were there any M&M peanuts?

What gave Jenn the feeling that she owned the chickens?

I’m gonna miss Joe. He reminded me a lot of Ozzy. Man, he was easy on the eyes, and that hair! He didn’t even have any conditioner!
Mr. J asked me if they could eat the sloth if they were hungry. I can’t remember the rules about eating native mammals, but I think I’d rather survive on the snickers.

Spoiler about the next All-Star season. (Not about the outcome, but about the casting. And not even a real spoiler for reasons you will see if you want to read it.)

Season 31 (next) will be an all-returnee season, but only for one-time participants and without any winners. They will pick 40 people and have an on-line fan vote on who gets to play. Many of the names are known, but two men from the current season are unnamed. Among the names are Greg Buis and Kelly Wigglesworth from season 1, Troyzan and Chelsea from One World, and Monica Culpepper and Candace’s husbands from Blood vs. Water. Also the crazy nuclear engineer, J’Tia and Spencer from Cagayan.

Mostly but sometimes they have to get from one to the other and there’s no branches close together. They are really creepy when they walk on the ground.

Jenn was the one who fed and cared for the chickens, and it’s really rude to eat one without a vote.

Interesting…

Though saying that there are two men from the current season is kinda a spoiler since we know they can’t win. Joe is one obvious choice. Who would the other be? Rodney? Mike? I can’t see anyone else being interesting enough to come back, though there’s still time.

They’re given lists of plants & animals they can and cannot eat. I’ve never been able to figure out if rats are protected, or if even 30 days of near starvation isn’t quite enough to make someone eat a rat.

They were wet and it was slippery, I can’t remember who it was but one of them tried, slipped and took a pretty hard fall before sliding the rest of the way down.

It was a pretty graceless challenge for sure.

There have been a couple of seasons where someone ate a rat. I’ve noticed that they feed them better these days; if you go back and watch earlier seasons, a lot of time is spent talking about how hungry everyone is.

Which makes for compelling TV.:dubious:

And the seasons where it doesn’t stop raining, watching them hunker down, shivering in the shelter is not very interesting either.

Thats why I don’t mind TPTB giving them some basic rations and supplies for a primitive shelter.
