Man, I thought for sure Darnell was gonna stick around. Really surprised they voted him out over Blondie. Especially when Jennifer said she didn’t want to vote for Darnell… then did so anyways! Really surprised the Brain tribe won so overwhelmingly. Where they seemed to make up time was pulling/pushing the boat down the track, surprisingly enough. Maybe the producers greased their tracks? 😉 ---

I started out rooting for Beauty because in a true division like that, beauty is the clear underdog. By the same token, I started out rooting against Brains because a true brains tribe would be the clear favorite. The first problem I ran into is that Caleb – who was a creepy stalker sociopath in the BB house – is inexplicably on the beauty tribe. I have no thoughts on his appearance, but he’s a friggin’ _cowboy_. (Or a ranch hand, or something like that.) It doesn’t get much brawnier than that. Speaking of beastmode cowboy, I was surprised he didn’t do the final task, choosing dexterity. He has some modicum of dexterity, plus he thinks he has the most dexterity of any human that has ever or will ever walk the earth. The second problem is that the beautiful Liz is for some reason on the brains tribe. She is so blindlingly attractive that I can’t help but to root for her tribe. Color me surprised the cute blonde girl who helped tank the challenge survived the first vote. It’s now been many seasons since the old cliche of “vote out the hot chick first” has been true. Jeff’s repetition is intentional, and has been from day 1. I remember reading interviews with Mark Burnett where he explicitly stated that the repetition is to make viewers comfortable back in season 2 or 3. Jeff complained about it several years in (maybe around season 8-10 or so) but Burnett was adamant. And finally, what’s the thinking of the asian gardener being on beauty? He makes beautiful gardens? Weak. ---

Yeah, not a fan of Darnell getting voted off. I wanted to see how he would play going forward. Not so much for Blondie…feels like we’ve seen her a few hundred times already. Think there must have been more going on in the tribe dynamics that we weren’t privy to. The version they showed us made no sense. Why vote out a strong young guy because of one oops moment, that could happen to anyone and probably will not be repeated, and keep the weak girl who just stood there until someone else stepped in? I’m liking the brains tribe so far, especially Not!Obama and the ice cream guy. Older quirky lady would drive me nuts if I was out there with her but she’s tolerable on screen (so far). Also like bug-in-her-ear lady. Tough chick with a good attitude! All the other young brunette girls are merging together for me, though. I have never watched Big Brother, so unfamiliar with Beast Mode Cowboy. Can anyone sum up? ---

I’ve never watched even one episode of BB and have no intention to. But he’s a hustle guy in the challenges, and seems to be a workhorse around camp, too. You only get pulled out if they deem it medically unsafe for you to continue. But I would have at least tried squirting in some water in there. She basically just waited until the thing was finished eating. Ugh. ---

I was also wondering how it got in there in the first place, and what she (and others) were doing to avoid a repeat performance. I sort of expected to see her with cotton stuffed in her ears or something… ---

To sum up Caleb from Big Brother in a word? Ego! Caleb loves him some Caleb. You’ll more than likely find that out soon enough. Have last nights episode on DVR so can’t comment yet on the show. ---

Anyway, I had the same thought during the show. They’re right beside the ocean, for heaven’s sake. Go out there, submerge for a few seconds, then keep that ear below water for a few minutes. Either the bug will come out or it will drown. Yes, then you’d have a dead bug in your ear, but then you can take your time digging it out with a twig/flushing out bits and at the least you can stop worrying about it eating its way further inside you. ---

Bumping this thread because it was right next to the thread: \*\*\*Quick, what’s your current earworm? \*\*\* I had to look away!!! I got a huge chuckle when the “Metal Giant” could not figure out that the Marker at the voting booth had a cap on it. Nice editing **Survivor**. I would have like to be a fly on the wall when they thought that some of these people are pretty and brawny. I am a straight dude, but I think all of the dudes on the Beauty tribe were butt ugly. And the ugliest with the tiny head went on and on about his beauty. The two best looking girls are on the brain tribe and brawn tribe. ---

I’m not willing to give the producers any credit–they have their own ideas on what they consider to be compelling TV and they’re certainly not above omitting pertinent information. I seriously doubt the thought of checking in with medical not only didn’t register with the victim, but anyone else on the tribe either.
