Survivor season 51

Whoa. Obviously, Rob has Issues.

Patt, we hardly knew ye. That poor girl got zero screen time. I thought that meant that she couldn’t possibly get voted out yet —it had to be Kilby, who already had got his share of exposure.

Really enjoyed this episode. The Mutiny option was something new, and I think it worked out well.

  1. Leaving your backpack out? Duuuuuude… But excellent on the home-tribe for going through it. Great strategy on their part.
  2. Breaking the oars? Not cool, dude. I hope the producers find some way to screw them over for that. And why didn’t whats-his-name go look at the oars before joining the tribe? He had ample opportunity, and nobody was there.
  3. Helicopter alliance? Damn, that was a sweet move getting the advantage out of the ladle.
  4. Loved the competition, again.
  5. Rob sucks. But he does get some begrudging teamsmanship points for handing off his idol.
  6. Kilby annoys me very, very much.

Another great episode.

An amendment to my reasons for voting the first one off the island: stupid haircut.

It apparently never occurred to them that it was unlikely that a clue hidden inside an oar would require an axe to find, as opposed to merely unwinding something or popping open a seam.

“The chicken has a clue!”

:;bgawk?"

I know the editing is always sus, but no one even mentioned her name 'til about 5 mins before tribal. I felt a little cheated.

I did enjoy that someone wrote":KILLby". There’s going to be some awkward exchanges back at camp.

Indeed.

Yes, a lot of contestants this year choose to dump Int (this is a FRP gaming reference, in other words, they are pretty damn stupid)

Not as much as Devin.

Man, a 4 player lead over the other team.

Tribal council returned to be a nothingburger, just time wasted as players spouted safe and meaningless comments.

Yet another example of one faction having a clear shot at the leader of a powerful alliance, but deciding to aim lower. There was a brief scene in which someone brought up Devin’s name to Kilby and he immediately shut them down. I wonder how hard they actually tried to convince him that Devin was indeed targeting him. And I wonder if he’ll wise up next week. Devin annoys me far more than Kilby does.

And if I can be shallow for a moment, I am sad that the best looking female player is now gone.

Carter accidentally switching tribes was hilarious.

As often happens when everyone is confident they’re on the right side of the vote. Nobody wanted anyone to change their mind.

Devin might be the leader, but he has no power. No one really trusts him, and he’s now on the wrong side of two votes. He’s an easy post-merge target. I think they rightly spotted Patt as someone who could easily get more allies post-merge. Remember that she was the one who really orchestrated the Aaliyah vote out in the first episode.

I agree to all of this. :innocent:

But taking one out of a five player alliance is still a decent move- and the first actual "move’ so far.

This does make sense. I could imagine Patt becoming a powerful player later in the game had she lasted longer.

On the other hand, I feel like the alliance is being held together by sheer force of Devin’s personality. Had he gone home, the other four would likely have been set adrift. With Patt gone, they’re still a tight four, which could come into play sooner rather than later if there’s a tribe switch or early merge next week, as teased in the preview.

Right as tribal council was about to start, the local weatherman broke in and started talking about a hook echo which if you’re not in the Midwest, you might not know that that’s a tornado’s radar signature.

I’m going to need someone to spoil TC for me please.

Ugh I hate the tribe swaps, especially when it’s to only 5-6 people.

Jenna brought that on herself really. Alexis told her the truth, that Devin and Jelly don’t like her and would vote against her but she just so wanted to hang around the cool kids. She wouldn’t even entertain the idea of voting for one of them.
