Notice how the side-view photo of Rubio is subtly tilted off the horizontal? Not only is he looking down, but the whole attitude of the image is sliding downhill. ---

The only reason it doesn’t seem that way, in a few spots in Whipple’s articles, is that she spent 22 hours with him (could be off a bit; I read that in the Bulwark) and slipped a few times. And each slip was sure to make it into the magazine. Hours and hours of abject loyalty were left out. I realize the last sentence is a repeat of how the Trump administration spins this, but isn’t it likely true? ---
