I’m 90% sure I’ll be coming. The 10% is in case something majorly unexpected happens as work, that can’t go on without me. Rue, I’ll be in touch with more questions later. Nothing major. OK people, we’re about a month out now. Time to hammer down your Funtime Plans! (Or not. Like it matters. If you say you’re coming and things come up, well… I’ll be sad, but I figure I’ll just soldier on. If you keep mum on the whole subject and then just pop 'round, that would be swell! Someone might be shorted a hot dog, but then, it’s only a hot dog after all.) If you’re curious as to what to bring to this thing (and you don’t feel like scrolling up and finding out), it’s easy: Firstly, if you’re coming for the cookout, then you should bring some food. (Not lots or anything, just a little smackerel to share.) Someone could volunteer to bring, like, paper plates and maybe some condiments, but things usually work themselves out, so no worries. (If you want to be super-prepared, then bring a cup, a bowl, a plate, a fork, a knife, and a spoon. Maybe a napkin.) You also might want to bring a folding chair. Folding chairs are much more comfortable to sit on than picnic tables. Your call. Secondly, if you want to go to Jungle Jim’s, then you should bring some money. Or not. You could just browse. But at Jungle Jim’s you will find something you have to buy. So you should bring money. Because we don’t hang with no shoplifters. You might also want to get a walkie-talkie that runs on the FRS frequencies. This is helpful for the convoy driving down to Jungle Jim’s. Why the FRS walkie-talkies? Because this is the kind I have and I don’t want to upgrade my technology. Tertiarily, if you want to come to the campfire you’ll need… uh… that folding chair from the first part? Yeah, you’ll need that. Or you could just stand there. Whatever works for you. Fourthly, if you’re camping overnight, then you’ll need a tent I guess, and maybe a sleeping bag or blanket or something. That should be it. ---

Time’s a-comin’, kiddos. You don’t _have_ to camp with us (show up for the afternoon comraderie–the food, the fun, the strange looks from those who don’t belong–and maybe **Rue** will give ya’ a hug), but sometimes the party’s not really going until all of your neighbors yell from their tents for you to shut up and go to bed. That’s a good indicator, right? Plus, hey, I’m coming from Kansas City. What else ya gotta do that’s more important than meeting an honest-to-goodness Kansas Citian? _ **WARNING** _ The picnic area is not reservable. I do plan on getting there early enough to get my dibby down on the farthest in area. If that plan does not come to fruition, there’s the second picnic area on the way in. You know how you’ll be able to tell which one I get? My little silver car (Honda Civic hatchback) will be parked in the appropriate lot. It’ll have a sign on it to let you know you’re at the right place. The sign with be next to festive balloons so you can find the sign easily. _ **that is all** _ ---

Of course, the forecast has changed about 5 times this week (or at least mine has, but I can’t imagine it’s been all that different). Are you sure you can’t make it, **FCM**? Boys have to wear something. You might want to look into a Tuxedo jacket, pith helmet and a frilly pirate shirt. Possibly some pants. Unless you prefer a kilt.
