A few small towns have a combined SWAT team in our area. The range is about 1 1/2 miles away but with the right wind I can hear them shoot. I haven’t heard them much at all this summer. Today it is steady full auto practice in 3 round bursts, probably M16s. Dennis ---

Part-time SWAT composed of officers from a variety of Podunk PDs doesn’t inspire my confidence. ---

Better that they practice, then that they wing it. I hope that they put together a plan and stick with it. ---

SWAT practice is nothing. It’s not unusual for us to hear artillery and/or tank practice. And it’s damn loud. We also have an air force base less than 10 miles away, so we hear the jets as well.
