Back in 1992, I saw a Swedish thriller on tv which I thought was quite good. As a a matter of fact it was my introduction to Swedish cinema and I remember being kind of fascinated by this culture and language which bore some clear ressemblance to others that I was more familiar with at the time (Dutch and German) but that was also oddly exotic to me.

What I remember about it:

- It must have been from the late 80s or early 90s, definitely before 1993.
- There was a cool hero, perhaps a cop with unorthodox methods or a blasé private eye.
- His investigation got him into trouble with some sort of Eastern European mafia (Yugoslavian, I think) that may have had links with some corrupt Swedish politicians.

That’s all I’ve got.
